  • I must go to school, but I can't stop listening this!!

  • bass and guitar fights!!!

  • the guital talk for him, respect!!

  • Steve Vai's greatness can be defined by Tony MacAlpine being one of his supporting guitarists.

  • Now i know where my dad gets his dress sense from..

  • sou fãn

  • awesome gig!

  • And of course you cant forget about tony, dave, and jeremy!!!

  • I always dig the vai/sheenhan combo they have that badass vibe around them and they always play an awesome show

  • DANM BILLY IS BIG!!.

  • wow

  • 4:44 Steve please, let the bassist shreder alone.

  • The intro looks like Eruption - Van Halen

  • absolutly fantastic

  • Haha anyone else hear an odd resemblance to satriani's "satch boogie"?? I think old stevie here is overcompensating =)

  • Steve Vai sucks almost as much as Primus sucks!!!if ya know what i mean....

  • @ecnaurps Not at all!?!! :D

  • Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan...PERFECT!!!

  • @hedgehog246 haha more like stu hamm and steve vai. lol steve fired stu bc he was to good and steve is arrogant as hell. lol billy isn't that great. thats why steve picked him. but now stu is rollin with satriani, who is pretty much better anyway.

  • @rjohnston96 He changes his band every five years to prevent his music from sounding the same.

  • @salasvalor01 yeah thats his excuse lol

  • @rjohnston96 There would be conflict between Vai and Satriani if that were the case. Also, arrogance comes with genius. It's a matter of controlling it. Steve's pretty excellent at controlling it off the stage. I'd say Vai's almost flipping "high genius" level.

  • @salasvalor01 Technically, no because satriani taught vai.

  • Pulenta...

  • billly sheehan + red leather pants + this song + steve vai + tony mcalpine + dave weiner + jeremy colson = sex for the ears

  • Who knew I could ejaculate from my ears?

  • who is the drummer? i forget it :p

  • @rrazzorrfull Jeremy Colson

  • 19 people isn't listening

  • Sure wish Steve would learn to play someday. Sheesh... :)

  • So perfect.5:15-5:45 is amazing!Billy and Steve together are the best!

  • bass solo blows. he thinks hes stu hamm...

  • @rjohnston96 Dude Billy Sheehan kicks everybodys butt at playing bass!!! best bass player alive

  • @IMaiden23 dude, this solo is....i dont even know hat to call it.... i guess shapeless is a good word, but seriously ive heard maybe one good solo off of him, and shortly after that stu hamm, aswell as a few other bass players curb stomped the best solo ive ever heard out of him. hes really not very good. im not even hatin, steve vai fired stu hamm because he was to good, and drew attention away from steve and now he has billy. he sucks. im sorry.

  • The audience is DEAD!

  • Almost crapped my self

  • What a hero!!

  • Can someone translate what is the guitar saying in the beginning?

  • @LightningHexagon Steve: "Are you ready?!!!" Folks: "Yeeeeaaah" Steve: "Sure, Are you ready?!!!" Folks: "Yeeeeaaaaaaaaaaah" Steve: "Yes you're readyyyyyyyyy" Folks: "Yeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah"

  • @slyodveek Close enough. LOL

  • @ChrisDempster95 not true at all. ive heard near all of it. he seems to me to write things that show off his 'tallent' and he thinks hes better than satriani :/

  • Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan were best together

  • well he is pritty awesome but the other 2 (for those who know who the other 2 in this g3 are) can whoop his ass any day especialy satriani

  • @rjohnston96 Mate it's not about who's better,(Petrucci, Vai, or Satch could easily play each other's songs!) It's about the music they write. (Although Petrucci dosen't use the whamy bar as much as Vai or Satch!) Satch mainly writes music that's more groove and rock influenced, Petrucci writes more melodic pieces, and Vai writes a whole variety of different songs! But like I said, all three of them are equal in skill and technical ability!

  • @ltayl1 ehh...they could play each others songs, your right, but vais doesnt have the creative righting skills of the other two, he writes extreemly arrogant music.

  • I looked for the word `talent`in the dictonary and this video appeared.

  • billy sheehan = jimi hendrix of the bass..

  • shit, dave weiner looks like ryan renolds up there!

  • 0:47 STEVE IS LISTENING, but the audience not.

  • 5:53 to 5:45 I LOVE IT !!!!

  • 4:47 he came

  • Energy

  • The most likely to use a wah during a solo = Kirk Hammet

The most likely to fuck his guitar= Steve vai

  • @336kgf obviously Hammett was his worst student

  • 19 people don't have ears

  • @iagsousa2 no man even the dead people can understand his music , its those 19 people who are to dumb to understand his music

  • this guy would be the BEST guitar teacher

  • @MegaRandom1241 Give credit to Satriani for that. He taught Vai, Kirk Hammett, and a bunch of other leading guitar players.

  • @336kgf Amen to that

  • I've opened the link to see Steve Vai, I saw the best guitarist in the whole universe! And he's only warming up in this vid. 'Building the church proves' his unbelievable skills.

  • when you know this tune !! , and 5:58 is coming you know this will be the end, so it's time to press 0:00 cause 2 times are better than one !

  • illustrious grand master of guitar .

  • a good guitarist plays music and makes you feel good,a great guitarist makes you feel what he is feeling while he is creating it.Steve Vai makes you feel every note. The man makes art as well as music.(bow to Vai).

  • Steve Vai...the basis by which we measure all future guitarists. We can call it "the Vai scale".

  • 18 PEOPLE ARE NOT LISTENING!!!

  • 1:23 - Best guitar riff I've ever heard!!!

  • Is the 1 guy with the blue guitar tom morello?

  • @devax1986 It's Tony McCalpin

  • @devax1986 Tony Mcalpine is a total beast, he's awesome

  • oh i saw it its his bad horsie

  • Is that a dunlop cry baby or his Bad Horsie pedal?

  • i can hear cry baby effects... XD

  • At 1:20 I'm surprised his guitar didn't shoot a hot lode all over the bass player

  • that man has so much control over his instrument, it's frightening

  • was he playing the 6 or 7string here? i cant tell

  • @horacrux 3:34 I see 6 pegs

  • @horacrux It's either Evo or Flo (his JEM guitars) so it's a 6.

  • That second guitar player is unnecessary

  • @SgtZaqq not entirely true... the second guitarist is playing what is known as the "rhythm guitar" part - just playing the basic chords the steve is building his guitar riffs around. although *technically* any rhythm guitar is "unnecessary", they add a level of depth and defnition to any guitar work, and therefore a nice touch (even if, as a bassist, i feel they tend to be misused. but that's another rant for another time.)

  • @achoryzentwo I know who is rhythm guitarist. I'm saying that he is unnecessary here. Rhythm guitar is often great, but not there.

  • pls god you have to retire, there is steve vai now

  • 18 people are deaf...

  • Steve + Sheehan = Magia

  • vote Steve Vai for most likely to knock a guitar out of tune!

  • @666enemyofreality666 That man has the most violently excellent guitar solos I have ever seen.

  • @666enemyofreality666 And the JEM for guitar least likely to be knocked out of tune, I take it?

Seriously, those things can take a beating.

  • @OtherRealmer Well...the way Steve has his JEM's adjusted...yes they can take quite a beating. But the regular JEMS we consumers are able to buy go out of tune when you try to do massive whammy stunts like Steve.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed my jem for 89 can take quite some beating like vai's i think his guitars have regular edge lo pro's in them

  • @MetalForceTristan You might be right! The high end JEMS are great guitars though. But Vai's bridges are a bit adjusted...and yes he uses Lo pro's, but with slight adjustements. Don't forget he has a whole team of guitardoctors behind him.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed ok.. i wonder what these adjustements are! :)

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed Really? All the JEMS I tried you quite literally couldn't get out of tune unless you removed the locking nut studs.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed it depends on the trem itself, my old dean has a floyd rose special and it stays in tune pretty damn well

  • @rickyjshiznit Yeah I know there are some good trems out there, but still...after some massive abuse it will still go a bit flat or sharp.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed the floyd rose specials are the shitty ones, that was why i brought it up. ive never had any problems with tuning stability with jems, even when doing ridiculous amounts of pitch shifting like steve does.

  • dumb question, is there a g3 dvd/ live cd?

  • @tomanddantracks Yes, there are. There is the CD and the DVD, actually I have the DVD and it's awesome, if you have the oportunity BUY IT!

  • MAN, I want his hair, AWESOME!

  • The song should be names Heaven is Listening!

  • que buen solo de guitarra de Bylli Sheehan! JAJAJA good guitar solo of SHEHAAN! JAJAJAJA

  • 18 fuckin' bieber fans detected...

  • and that is a intro riff

  • Guitargasm

  • 06:20-06:27 fucking amazing.... i jizzed my pants :)

  • if i could ask him just one question it would be, what do you use to keep your hair so awesome

  • Steve Vai = What a nice little boy

Billy Sheehan + Your daddy, your brother, your lover and your little boy!!!

  • @ermonski HAHAHA!!! that is the funniest shit ive ever heard on youtube!!!

  • @ermonski no: Steve Vai is SHYboy lol

  • @ermonski wait, is that sheehan on the bass? i thought that style sounded familiar, but i didn't recognize him...

  • @achoryzentwo yes it is Billy Sheehan! :)

that long haired, tall guy with fingers flying all over the bass! \m/.

  • I want listen STEVE VAI & JORDAN RUDESS!!!!!!!!!

  • bring your three friends up, they can play with you.

  • for some reason i hate how eccentrically active Billy is.. like we get it ur good at bass.. :P

  • @TheWilderMusic- you ever see him do a bass solo? You won't be the same afterwards.

  • um @sinsynn where do you see Stu Hamm in this? Billy Sheehan on bass..though Stu probably does have some red pleather someplace lol

  • Everything about this is epic....

    Especially Stu Hamm's pants.

Red pleather pants are epic, for sure...

  • @SinSynn Stu Hamm does not appear in this video. The bass player that you see is Billy Sheehan.

  • @ferrariman997 WELL OF COURSE BILLY WOULD B*TCH

  • 3.54 ahahahahahaha

    ahahahahahah

  • paul gilbert!!!

  • that steve vai; what a nice littel boy

  • 1000000 note streak

  • @ferrariman997 Bass guitarists do! :P

  • whos the bassist, ive seen him before but cant name him

  • Billy Sheehan

  • why is there a hole in his fender les paul telephonecaster?

  • this track is SOOO much better without that awful old woman's voice

  • which kind of music does steve vai play?

    steve vai's music

  • HE CAN MAKE THAT GUITAR MAKE ANY SOUND HE WANTS IT TOO.

  • HOW DAMN CAN HE GO SO SPEEDLY

  • 5:14 - 5:34 best part of the song ImI

  • amazing bass solo with steve

  • Steve and Billy always have great chemistry together, this performance proves it again.

  • 5:51 T Chacarita (Argentina soccer club)

  • @abrookes1985 and good for that. youtube is just a place where people think it is... it's a shame. in rock videos: people taunt justin bieber in justin bieber: people taunt well.. justin bieber in death metal: people taunt emo music in emo music: people taunt behemoth in punk: people taunt everything... and in every guitarists videos... people taunt other guitarists. youtube kinda sucks..
  • Someone commented on the bass player because they would like to kill him? Seriously, I don't think Steve Vai would have a "BAD" musician in his band. Please, all you "REAL" bass players, show us how its done. P.S. Is that Billy Sheehan on the bass? I am not sure, kinda looks like him.

  • @thunderbeast1968 of course its billy ! hes a badass

  • @thunderbeast1968 of course its billy ! hes a badass

  • now that IS how pussy is obtained.

  • SICK BASS! I want one now.

  • Not bad but if it were up to me I'd kill the bass player (cos he's a tool and he isn't doing anything worthwhile anyway) and then I'd get Beavis off the drums.

  • @adamhartdyke1 I'm sure you're a much better bass player.

  • Comment removed

  • The audience is, indeed, listening. Holy crap, this is even more awesome without the annoying teacher.

  • Steve vai has one of the best bassist ever in his band.

  • Gosh, I freaking love his guitar.

  • This was the show that intoruced me into Vai. I was a 14 year old by then, really a cool thing to discover when you are a young kid. I go to Berklee now, like Vai did ahah. Life.
