But then I witnessed something similar happen with my brother and his high school sweetheart (now his wife). They broke up in 2006 because he wanted to see other people. BUT then in 2009, he had already seen other people in high school & college, he then realizes what he had with her, that he didn't

Even after ALL the things J.D. told himself in seasons 3-4 about her. Just because J.D. told himself something doesn't mean he knew what he was talking about. He just needed to grow up a little first before realizing what Elliot truly meant to him.

This is what makes this show brilliant; it's hilarious, but so many of its story lines and recurring themes are true to life.. it's strange how this scene stirs complete opposite emotions at the same time; joy and pain, laughter and sadness .. I really think Scrubs was a top 5 show last decade.
