errm, maybe cus amy lee was like 11 when this film came out. Besides Sally isnt a singer, shes a character, and Catherine O hara portrayed the role perfectly, with all the nuance and imperfections of a lonely doll/girl thing with longing, heart and dreams. If amy COULD do that, then by all means she should apply for the next disney film.

the music is playing a i - III - iv progression and when it goes to iv the singer inflects the 3rd of the iv chord as major instead of minor thus briefly making the chord a IV instead of iv(minor) in its current key of d minor this would mean it's d minor chord, f major chord, then g minor chord(g-Bflat-d) but she first sings a B NATURAL in the g minor chord instead of Bflat so inflects it with a major intonation/appagiatura thus giving it that distinctive sound u hear at 2:14
