He was way, way ahead of his time. And I love how he had a knack of making intense social commentary without saying a word.

@jmm53087 considering he was born 50 years after michelangelo, i would hardly say he was ahead of his time. if anything, his genius lies in being behind his time as he brought a realistic approach to medieval themes.
although i admit he did have some novel perspectives like the one with the hunters on a hilltop overlooking a valley
