The mustang is about 300lbs lighter the mustang will always have the weight to power ratio advantage over the camaro the only way the camaro will win if it has more HP if both cars are 1000hp the mustang is going to win cause its lighter.

@MasonJenn Ford GT block is different than GT500. FGT is an aluminum dry sump block with steel cylinder liners, 07-10 GT500 is an iron block, 11 GT500 block is aluminum with PTWA cylinder liner and wet sump.
The cars are still stock!!!! You do realize that ford motors of these age can handle 1000hp with no problems and same for the new edge camaros.... I watched the video on tv and have a friend who owns a gt500. The gt500 motors are nothing more than a cobra block modified and renamed. Eithier way they are STOCK motors and tuned. Tuned dont take away the stock name from it

@stangredemption yes and adding turbos and superchargers that put power up to almost 1000 hp is also NOT STOCK and as far as the bushings and sparks plugs go that could be considered stock if it is a replacement of the same part because off wear and tear. thats exceptable and still stock however even an aftermarket air intake i belive wouldnt make it stock and if you dont understand why i will give you an example...
think of any classic muscle car that may be rather rare say a mustang boss 302 or original GTO that may be worth 100k or even more if one shows up with replacement spark plugs wires and new suspension bushing wore out it would still be worth the same amount of money because its just simple replacement parts same thing as different tyres cause they obviously will be worn out and replaced, however if one was for action with a other than stock air intake it would be worth at least 10k less

There able to stop a 4,000+ lbs car from 60 to 0 mph at 109 feet according to edmunds insideline, others say different but the v6 is 109 ft. bc of less weight without the use of brembos. With that much hp in the video even the brembos should be upgraded.
@rtheck Interesting, but I still think its kind of misguiding to call the Camaros Brembo brakes "stock" without to mention they are Brembo. V6 weigh about 3750 pounds. 109 ft are more or less the standard for a car to manage.. No hating, just saying :)
@SharQus actually for being 3741 lbs in my configuration and the most weight combo for the v6 is 3780 and to be able to stop at 109 ft is a huge and impressive bench mark. Most vehicles don't even come close to that unless they are performance oriented.
@rtheck 200+ pounds are a huge difference. And I beg to differ. 109-115 ft (33m - 35m) are standard for allot of euro cars. Both Saab and Volvo make those numbers with out being top of the line in their segment.

@Okesoke There is no such thing as a 5.6 DOHC. It was a 5.4 DOHC in the 2000 Cobra R. In the 03-04' Cobras it was a 4.6 DOHC that could hold 25 pounds of boost as a daily driver. And on your LS motor theory, you cant do any bolt ons with out an internal blowing out. Dream on, the Cobra ate all those ugly ass Camaro's alive, that's why it was nicknamed the "Terminator". Do some research before you open your childish mouth.

Build one yourself. I've seen Mustangs with LSX's in them. I've even seen an LSX Supra. Look up the LSX motors from Nelson Racing Engines (you can see them on youtube, just search it)

The cars are still stock!!!! You do realize that ford motors of these age can handle 1000hp with no problems and same for the new edge camaros.... I watched the video on tv and have a friend who owns a gt500. The gt500 motors are nothing more than a cobra block modified and renamed. Eithier way they are STOCK motors and tuned. Tuned dont take away the stock name from it

Does that make my motor not stock anymore because it's getting better spark and air? I been in this game for a long time and I mean over 10 years. TUned motors is the new stock class. "NOT Stock" is considered better and stronger internals and heads and cam, THEN you are talking about not stock.

think of any classic muscle car that may be rather rare say a mustang boss 302 or original GTO that may be worth 100k or even more if one shows up with replacement spark plugs wires and new suspension bushing wore out it would still be worth the same amount of money because its just simple replacement parts same thing as different tyres cause they obviously will be worn out and replaced, however if one was for action with a other than stock air intake it would be worth at least 10k less

There able to stop a 4,000+ lbs car from 60 to 0 mph at 109 feet according to edmunds insideline, others say different but the v6 is 109 ft. bc of less weight without the use of brembos. With that much hp in the video even the brembos should be upgraded.

@SharQus actually for being 3741 lbs in my configuration and the most weight combo for the v6 is 3780 and to be able to stop at 109 ft is a huge and impressive bench mark. Most vehicles don't even come close to that unless they are performance oriented.

@Okesoke There is no such thing as a 5.6 DOHC. It was a 5.4 DOHC in the 2000 Cobra R. In the 03-04' Cobras it was a 4.6 DOHC that could hold 25 pounds of boost as a daily driver. And on your LS motor theory, you cant do any bolt ons with out an internal blowing out. Dream on, the Cobra ate all those ugly ass Camaro's alive, that's why it was nicknamed the "Terminator". To compete with the Z28 (302ci) in the TransAm racing circuit, which Ford "struggled" to compete.
I'd say if anything, Ford has been chasing Chevy for decades. Only in recent years did Ford pull their heads out of their asses but with a massive assist from Carrol Shelby.

Chevy started production of the Corvair in 1960, which the mustang (originally a mid-engine vehicle - hence the catchy side scoops) was trying to compete against, Ford finally caught the market after five years; it only took Chevy to make a comback in two with the Camaro. Oh, by the way, Chevy had also already owned the market since 1953 with the ever popular Corvette. So take your pony back to the stable and do some more homework.

@good1apollo Twice as much hp does not make them supercars dumbass. They may have twice the hp.. BUT , they wont have the throttle response of a ferrari. They wont have the traction and aerodynamics of a ferrari.. the braking, YES, They are technically supercars because of all that hp, so I will agree with you, but do not say they are more of a supercar than a ferrari,porsche etc. Mclaren F1 is still untouchable to this day and only runs 600hp.

@mmdaniels33 actually the bugatti beats the mclaren. You say this dosnt have the suspense of a ferrari. When you turn this car on the rush flows through your body.. you can feel that 1000 HP. These are super cars. They just dont have the pretty boy look that euro queer cars have. They have the muscle look.

Around any track in the world.. the mclaren f1 is the fastest car you could ever possibly put on it. They veyron would not stand a chance against a mclaren f1.
