  • the beginning is my fav!

  • only i understand that and I barely do

  • Paul is human he proved it my believing the Liars in Washington!

  • this is just the edit - the full version with venus & mars reprise at the end is way better...

  • he tuned a guitar like a ukelee when Paul met him

  • when john decided he was gonna be a star he didn't know shit, but he had Drive

  • hold on there without john paul would be playing in his basement

  • I don't compare value of lives

  • is the first part of this tune a song in itself somewhere? i like it much better than rock show

  • @hooglaz Venus and Mar(Reprise) is 2 minutes long and it only includes that song, different lyrics though

  • u stayed up for the show

  • WOW, No one beats Macca. None come close. He is the music man.

  • O SEA CARAJOOOO!!!!!

  • THIS IS ROCKKKKKK JOACARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

  • Wings is the best rockband EVER!

  • As much as people cry over Lennon, Paul was far better.

  • @ObiTrev Oh C'mon...Go easy now.

  • @362chop Lennon had puff feelings for his band mate Paul, and cheated on his wife with Yoko. The guy was a nutter who saw nothing but himself, calling the band "More popular than Jesus" and what not. Neil Young once said, "It's better to burn out then to fade away". Lennon disputed Young's quote with, "It's better to fade away then to burn out", and look what happened, Lennon faded away. The way people worship him is the same nonsensical group think that Jobs and Jackson get. Don't cry for him.

  • @ObiTrev Understand your beliefs but as far as crying...I don't cry for anyone. As far as Lennon worship I don't go there but do respect the mans musical genius....All Respect my friend.

  • @ObiTrev The Beatles were more Popular than Jesus in 1966.

Lennon fade away??? I don't think so.

  • @ObiTrev why was "better"?

  • @ObiTrev You can cry over John but love Paul better.

  • @ObiTrev I couldn't agree more!

  • Other than perhaps a few classical composers, there is no greater writer of music than this man.

  • Grande disco di rock.

  • Could someone please tell me where I can find the songbook for this lp?

I'd love to play Wings material on the guitar

  • Paul McCartney songs are such good fun.

  • I need to get this album back so badly.

  • paul, linda was such a part of this music. thanx

  • So awesome, looking around in a store seen this album, sounded and looked cool! No idea it would be this sweet and fucking great!

  • Shame on you YouTube , i can't search for a good music called " Rock Show " that appears an Horrible Lady Gaga's song and i can't search for " Venus & Mars " than i see Other childs posting Covers of .H.S

  • isn't everyone tired of seeing agagydal everywhere...they don't know black magick ALWAYS backfires

  • June 1975 13 years old smoking first joint ever listening to this song!!

  • I stand corrected.... everyone I know has been singing it wrong for many years...COBO is a big arena.. especially back then it was THE stop in the midwest so it did make sense .. falls between madison square and hollywood bowl too geographically...

  • Good song, when Wings were #1

  • Paul rox,. as far as i am concerned, and yes, Paul I miss Linda very much.

  • If you are going to post the lyrics at least get them right...There is no CONCERTGEBOW..... THERE IS... COBO HALL in ROCK CITY...DETROIT, MICHIGAN...which is what he was referring to. If there's a rock show at the concert COBO...etc ...COBO Hall is where Bob Seger Recorded LIVE BULLET. It is where FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE was recorded too...among others

  • @thejimmy32 The Concertgebouw (correct spelling) is a concert venue in Amsterdam. Google it. Venus and Mars was released in 1975. Live Bullet came out in 1976. I doubt Cobo Hall was known too much except by the detroit locals. and he's NOT singing Concert Cobo which makes no sense. It's not Concert Cobo... it's Cobo Hall.

  • @thejimmy32 I have this album, which had the lyrics in it.. TheBeatles72 and hooeybrown have it right. It is the Concertgebow. You should check your facts before you accuse others of nto knowing. Thanks to hooeybrown, as I never knew what the Concertgebow was until now.

  • On December 24 at 8.00 in the morning a young 14 year old boy by the name of Scott Johnson was found dead. Doctors couldn't come up with the cause of his death. his mother checked his emails to see if she could try and figure out what happened. turned out he was singned on to my space. She found out he'd gone to sleep after he read and didn't repost a chain letter. If you don't respond this to six videos a girl with no face will kill you tonight. Sorry don't want to die.

  • @snowytidz What a massive dick you are

  • Big show!!

  • The change at 1:07... OMG!

  • Who is a genius? Picasso painting "Guernica" , Enstein discovering"E = mc²" or Paul who wrote a hundred of "silly love songs"

  • @gg59o APPLES AND ORANGES. You could even debate Einstein vs. Picasso..... but again... apples and oranges. Comparing a musician/songwriter with a scientist and an artist is pointless. You might as well compare Mark Twain to Casey Stengel to Steven Spielberg and debate who is a genius. A better comparison would be McCartney to Hank Williams Sr. to the Gershwins. Genius? it's subjective.

  • This was one of the first vinyl records I ever bought, and I am so glad I picked this one, I listen to this whenever I can, awesome rock music right here!

  • I'm surprised this doesn't get played on the "Classic Rock" stations.

  • THIS IS ROCK FROM THE MASTER .

  • THERE'S A, ROCK SHOW!!! at the concertgebow, they've got LONG HAIR!!!, at the madison squaaaaaaare!

  • I own several Paul McCartney records, including Venus and Mars, and it still sounds amazing!

  • I think Venus and Mars could have been a much longer song - a full song in its own right rather than an intro to rock show.

  • You know you've made it when McCartney mentions you by name in a song.

  • no esta completa

  • EPIC!

  • RickyGervaisFreak , it is hermano, god bless you ever mccartney, lennon, star and harrison , always living leyends

  • Macca and Wings hit #12 in Billboard, 12-13-75. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! RIP, the lovely Linda.

  • My junior high school days.

I was disappointed in love by the message of her friend.

The times not to be able to yet drink.

I forgot that memory while hearing this song repeatedly.

This song is my sweet memory.

  • strawberry wine forever macca !!!

  • Venus & Mars R all right 2 night.......

  • Quite agree with RickyGervaisFreak, couldn't have put it better myself, so I won't even try!!!

  • Epic

  • Remember the insert with self-adhesive yellow & red pool balls ?? I went round our house sticking them everywhere lol

  • why did you cut off the end of the song? i remember when this came out. we were all pumped waiting for that first american wings tour in '76. and i just saw led zeppelin in january before this came out. "score an ounce, ole."

  • the coming KISS cover of this song will be awesome...

  • Paul is the hardest working man in the music industry. And it shows, your here listening right? He's probally in studio as I write this...

  • @in2trees Not only in studio but on a huge tour, how the man does it I don't know.

  • It seems to me Paul has been trying to live up to John Lennon's standards his whole career. Don't get me wrong, if given the choice, I'd much rather listen to Paul's greatest hits (Which I'm listening to right now.) While I also love John, and his songs are far more socially relevant, Pauls songs are far more "catchy". Sometimes I just like to listen to catchy songs. :D

  • @brownrecluse805 I always thought that Pauls songs were more introspective whereas Paul was much more in love with life. But yes I agree, they are more catchy too.

  • @brownrecluse805 I like listening to catchy songs too ahaha A lot of people like listening to John's workvbecause it's more emotional and stuff, but you don't wanna listen to sad stuff all the time ahaha so that's why you have to have a little of both!

  • Comment removed

  • McCartney is a pop craftsman. I love figuring his stuff out. His chord progressions are a window into the past hundred years of popular music in the west.

  • How are there three dislikes? This song is completely un-dislikeable.

  • There really is a god of music HIS NAME IS PAUL!!!!!!!!!!

  • All right.

  • Haven't heard this song for at least 20years+. Man Paul can sure write some hot dodo. Still as fresh as the day it was born. bravo P.

  • Venus and Mars ? First time I heard it I thought Paul and John are alright tonight.

  • i liked this album...number of good songs..my fave was "love in song"..used to always play it on a juke box at some joint i used to eat at..when it came out...summer of whatever year....

  • Love the homage to Jimmy Page...1:33-1:41

  • con este tema abrió el concierto

    :')

  • Definitely a master

  • I'm so tired of the old god... I want a new god.... paul!

  • Paul must play at the super bowl with this song

  • This actually sounds like a very prescient eulogy for John.

A good friend of mine follows the stars.

what's that man holding in his hand, he looks like a guy I knew way back when

  • @alphaboo1

Uh, yeah...if it hadn't been recorded 5 years prior to his death.

  • @rayterry You know what the word prescient means don't you? It means having or showing knowledge of events before they take place.

That is why it is a prescient eulogy. It appears to be a eulogy written for John before he died. So your comment backs up the point I was making in my comment. It was written before John died, hence a prescient eulogy

Sitting in the stands of the sports arena, waiting for the show to began. Red light green light...

    Have a good week.

  • @Alphaboo2

While it is true I overlooked the "prescient" reference, it remains an asinine comment. This is true not just because prescience doesn't exist, but also because, no, it does not appear to be a eulogy for John. There is not a single reference in the song that should conjure an image of John for anyone other than the most confused, bizarro BeatleFag.

  • So much of Paul's music goes under rated. He is so good, back then and still today in the year 2011.

  • sitting in the stand of the sports arena waiting for the show to begin red light green light srawberry wine a good friend of mine SHUDNT LET ME GET PISHED lol

  • great tune

  • 0:00/1:00 just Perfect !

  • Does anybody know/remember the disco band that recorded this song circa 1978? It was a girl on lead vocals...

  • Así comenzó el show del 10. Impresionante! Cuando la escucho se me pone la piel de gallina. "Venus and Mars were alright this night"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i went to mccartney gig here in são paulo, in morumbi stadium, and i was like all the time "sitting in the stand of sports arena"

it was like a dream actually

  • @zeroleminski me too, I was there and i'll never forget that moment :)

  • I totally forgot about this song. I don't think I've heard it for over 30 years...

  • Looks like the Jonas Brothers disliked this...

  • @itsbridgetlogann

    Yeah... LOL

  • "We'll be there".

São Paulo, Morumbi Stadium, November 21st.

  • @zeroleminski

    me too!!

  • This isn't the real version! It's the single version!

  • Paul mccartney is a rock god and period.

  • Gracias por venir a la Argentina..I love You! tanks Paul!!! Forever!!!

  • melhor show de todos!

  • Only the best will do!

  • Still got this on vinyl..excellent

  • Best era of the post beatles McCartney

sound before he switch to save the environment music in the 90's!

    Jman

  • Why isn't the whole song there?

  • @PhantomKitty957 Awww!!! The short version! Seriously, what dumb-ass producer thought that cutting parts out of this song would somehow be an improvement?

  • MUY BUEN VIDEO ME AGRADA ESTA CANCION PRIMER CANCION QUE ESCUCHE EN VIVO DE PAUL

  • THE MAN!!!!

  • 20th June, Hampden Park, Glasgow - WHAT an intro

  • i was there too!!!!! so amazing!!! and it was my first concert. its gonna spoil all the others but im fine with that!!!

  • What a great combo ... a "soft" acoustic intro via "Venus and Mars" followed by the rockin' "Rock Show." For you guitarists out there, "Rock Show" is a barre chord blast! But as someone else posted earlier, why did "they" cut a couple minutes off this song?

  • this great

  • Love this song sooo much! Paul opened with it last night in Pittsburgh. It was magical. <3

  • @InlovewithNile I WAS THERE TOO! <3

  • @InlovewithNile Yes it was!!! I was there!

  • @InlovewithNile OMG you were there too?,,,that show was MAGICAL..to bad ill probibly never see him again ;(

  • this is my favorite song and the first 2 be played at the concert in philly last night!!!

  • @rachelizpoppin I was there dude. Amazing show. Paul is the best.

  • @Eamonn329 yes really cool and i loved that he started the show off with this song. it's my fav!!!!

  • KISS is going to record this song for a Paul McCartney album!

  • @Tonyr67 i heard that too, to be honest its the perfect song for them

  • @Tonyr67 While as a die hard KISS fan, I was happy to hear this. However, ver sad to have confirmed that they just got to sing the tune with Paul's backing band. No offense to the PM fans...it really saddended me because KISS would add balls to this tune. However it had a certain ballsy feel to it...for PM that is. As a KISS fan I think it's awesome because PM, a true icon, is giving KISS credit and respect. Why? Because the "rock eestablishment that hates and persecutes KISS" loves PM. PM KNOWS

  • @Tonyr67

You say that like its a good thing.

  • @circamuffin ,

It isn't? Are you one of those guys that still thinks KISS is just about show and gimmick?

  • @Tonyr67

    Say it ain't so.

  • venus & mars (and saturn) are aligning all this wk....

    ~ kool upload, insta-fave, thx tonz :)*

  • simplesmente um GENIO

    da musica

    vida longa

    joao fernando

  • 1:08 - BEAST!

  • Fuckin AWESOME PERIOD!!

  • hey! where's the ending?????? i love the part where paul is talking: "remember last week i told you i was going to get tickets to the rock show? well, i got 'em! so put your dress on! get your wig on straight! don't be late! we've got a date! going to the rock show."

that's why i sought out this song!!!!

  • venus and mars are alright tonight. a-m-a-z-i-n-g

  • BTW, the link in the beginning, Something and Live and Let Die are, for me, the highlights of the whole show.

Though the show os absolutely fantastic and great in its entirety.

  • Paul McCartney= Genius! He is the most genuine, brilliant, outstanding, fantastic, excellent, astounding, amazing, awesome, coolest, good looking, and greatest person that has ever existed! There are not enough words in the universe to describe how awesome he is! I can't stop listening to his music! It always puts a smile to my face =] Rock on Paul!!!

  • @RickyGervaisFreak So do I, bro, so do I and a lot of peolpe around the globe.

His contribution to music is totally awesome and underestimated. With or without The Beatles he is one of the best musicians ever, for me the best.

  • @Thebestbuddy1986 Well I am a girl ^^" but yeah hahaha he is definitely the best! No doubt about that! He has done so many things. He can play just about any instrument..and think of all the songs he has written. Even for one of his albums (at least one) he did all the instruments and everything, by himself. Pure genuine!

  • @RickyGervaisFreak Excuse me, my lady, I didn't know about you being a girl.

And it ain't 1 album only, it's 3: McCartney, McCartney II and Chaos and Creation in The Backyard, as well as Band On The Run, except this one has collaboration from Denny Laine.

And I gotta add that he has composed more than 1000 songs and has been covered by some great artists, and been named the most prolyfic musician by the Guiness Records.

So yeah, he's one heck of an artist.

    And he doesn't do playback.

  • @Thebestbuddy1986 I see, well indeed, I say he is the greatest musician out there. He is the most genuine song writer, and he deserves more credit then he has been given, not a lot of people of this generation don't see him as that. They think that Justin Beiber and Jonas Brothers are great...(Which I strongly disagree) Paul McCartney is the world's greatest musician.

  • @RickyGervaisFreak Bah, don't even bother naming those stinky bastards. Rats like those and others such as Miley Virus, La Gaga, Beyonce or Rianna, take down the whole concept of music: those are being handed disgusting compositions by people who think that can write songs, but it's a major mistake on these days music. I'm glad Macca and others such as John Fogerty, Mark Farner, ZZ Top or the surviving Doors still have a lot to offer and show it by touring over and over.

  • @RickyGervaisFreak Besides that, it's nice to see there are a few groups who still put the good music in a decent place, like The Kaiser Chiefs and Coldplay, that kind of bands have good notions of what real music means. Though I guess it's quite impossible for another '60's to exist ever. That decade is, I think, irrepeatable.

  • @Thebestbuddy1986 Yeah the 60's was a unique decade. The style of music will never be the same. I like a few of today's bands, such as Linkin Park, Three Days Grace and such. I also like modern country, but I avoid pop (especially Disney), rap, hip hop, R&B, and such.

  • @RickyGervaisFreak That music has inspiration nor talent at all. It's always the same crap over and over again. Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy, in case you didn't know) can compose better music, and he's not a musician.

  • @Thebestbuddy1986 Yeah, I know who he is..and I agree, but don't you mean no inspiration nor talent?

  • @RickyGervaisFreak Sorry, I meant that, but you got the idea.

  • @Thebestbuddy1986 That, I do my friend, that I do.

  • @RickyGervaisFreak there might be enough words, just multiply the words you said x 10000000000000000000000000000000000, that's not enough though.

  • @MaruMovieFan9779 True.....I mean...you'd have to triple that amount..and there's still not enough.

  • @RickyGervaisFreak hey, I just invented a new word: "PAULTASTIC". It means everything we've been talking about, but in the right amount! I'll have to invent a number too ... ;)

  • @MaruMovieFan9779 That is a smashing word :3

  • @RickyGervaisFreak You're sick too

  • @Josezitoreq Thanks

  • who's that Jimmy Page :) Page and McCartney the best of all times !!!

  • Finally saw Paul live last night... my life is complete :)

  • @owlsongs Colorado or what? I seen him at the Rio Tinto. Best night of my life! He opened with Venus & Mars, went to Rock Show and then Jet! Most epic thing ever! And Live and Let Die was amazing :3

  • @mypimpsters yes. colorado. :D he opened just like that in denver as well.

Live and Let Die was BEYOND amazing. I was expecting the pyrotechnics, and they STILL made me jump :P

  • @owlsongs I was also at the denver show it was amazing had goosebumps trough half fo the show

  • .........venus and mars....will always stay with me....saw Sir Paul...heaven!

  • tomorrow !

  • wanted to buy this but can't !!!!! Temp out of stock! what!

  • i hav ths song on my i-pod

  • @Mrhappyface19 sorry just joking it's a great tune, and yeah i have it too, but unfortunately its on an i-turntable attached to an i-amp and i-speekers and also my home, sorry i-home!

  • I used to listen to this when I was a kid. Thank you for uploading.

  • i know this may sound strange but i am probabably going to choose to go to paul this august or lady gaga in february wich one>!>!>!

  • sir paul mccartney has just made history... he´s the man.... he´s a god...!!! i love u paul the best musician ever!!!!! <3

  • Paul McCartney is an awesome singer!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now, you youngins may not realize that Macca mentions Hollywood Bowl. All well and good. Within a year or so, of V&M, Capitol would release Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl. Now, there is a live album.

  • Is it just me that prefers Paul's Wings stuff to his Beatles stuff?

  • @seanozep - probably but wings are still beyond amazing

  • @seanozep Yes, it's just you.

  • @seanozep i like both the same but during Wings he seemed to be happier
