The rhythm is actually rather perfectly matched. If you listen in carefully they mirror points and turns in the song. video could use some work. But the rhythms are nicely in sync.

i think it sounds that way because the mario music changes paces a lot. if you listen to the drumbeat and the rapping you'll see it matches.
