  • Enjoyed this very much! I am just learning about Mix Media and this was just great! It also helped you had a black cat! I allowed "The Magi" my black cat to watch with me - He wanted me to tell you he enjoys fairies also! Blessings!!!

  • Lovely, just lovely,,,,I so enjoyed this. I am not much of a "drawer" and I feel I can do this as well,,you have made my day! WONDERFUL!

  • How long did you wait between each step for it to dry?

  • what do u use to fast forward and edit gud work:P

  • I am amused! It's the first video of you, which I found accidentally and definitely not the last one. I love your art! And it's great choice of music too. :)

    Best wishes, Petra

  • amazing tecniques..simply loved it....:))

  • I loved watching you make this video.

Today is my birthday and in honor of it, I am starting off a new journal (in a binder instead of in a Moleskine- this is a scary new adventure!). I've been procrastinating though, since I'm scared and unmotivated- but when I watched this video, you basically lit a fire under my ass. Thank you so much for this video. I'm going to treat myself to a couple of more of your videos before retreating to my art room! *hugs* Thanks so much for your inspiration.

  • this is absolutely AMAZING

and i dont want to be picky but it sorta annoyed me that you kept changing from past tense to instructions :S

  • I loved watching the process of this journal page...just beautiful. Its exactly how one goes about just discovering, playing and growing in their art. Excellent!!

  • My favorite :)

  • This page is so beautiful! I love how you actually made a scene instead of just doing random things like in other art journals that I see

  • RubyClaire, I don't know if it is the music or the tutorial. I've watched it many times but this time was different. I can't help but cry. I have a grandbaby girl that live 9 hrs from me and we visit all the time. She will be 4 next month and every day we do crafts. We paint, draw, stencil, stamp etc. I'm thinking about having her start her own art journal. This way when I'm gone she will remember how much her granny loved her and the projects we did.

  • @sharoncaillier That is so beautiful, thankyou so much for sharing, <3

  • This is so neat to watch being put together!!! You just make magic! I love it!

  • I really enjoyed watching you create this. It's exactly the kind of world I imagine my cat plays in at night!

  • I woke up feeling down and stumbled on this tutorial. I was truly inspired and filled with hope. I will try some of these techniques. I love the layering. And the fairies! I am a fairy person. ;0) Just want you to know how you have given me hope on a dark morning. What a beautiful teacher you are.

  • Lovely video! you showed some very good techniques which i will find usefull as I have justs tarted mmy very first art journal after painting with one medium for years. I didn't think I would enjoy it but I found it very freeing. Thanks for sharing!

  • maybe Im mistaken here, but I dont understand certain aspects about layering. It seems to me that the bottom layers become obsolete. For instance, why use a delicate green water color pencil only to paint over it with an opaque green paint (which looks like an acrylic)?? The end result shows no sign of the water color being used at all. Im not questioning the talent of the artist but the technique itself. Just seems like so much effort to add dimension only for it to look flat again.

  • When i made this page I had no idea where i was going with it. I just did layers for fun, experimenting as I went- to see what would happen when i added different elements to each other. This was one of my first few art journal pages so I was still very new with all of the paints and pencils. You can only learn and discover techniques if you experiment. :)

  • You are very correct in your statement. However that make this video an "art journal experiment" not a Tutorial. Anyhow, I only asked because it seems alot of "art journaling" technique videos on youtube do the same thing of (what I would consider) over layering. Being an art journalist myself, I am sensitive to the work that I cover or layer over. I do thank you for your honest response and again, my observation is not an attack against you rather it is to question this popular "technique".

  • OMG!! Amazing!!!

    I really love it!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Loved watching your video, very inspiring! Thank you for sharing :)

  • that was gorgeous. personally i would have left the fairies off (but i'm not a very fairy person)...great work!
