This song is so much better acoustic. Fuck, the harmonising is awesome, this band is far too good to say how down to earth they are. Such an inspiration, and you can tell Simon is holding back so much emotion whilst letting it out at the same time. If my maw died I wouldn't be able to speak her name let alone sing such a beautiful song.

This was written about his mother, when she was in hospital "In a bedroom with no windows or doors" dying, Machines was written after she died. Simon doesnt like playing either live anymore and seems to never play this one. It's pretty sad, glad he shared it with us though.
