  • Why did I laugh when I saw him playing the xylophone? d'aww sooo cute

  • beautiful sad song!!

  • They make me proud to be Scottish :')

  • 13 people dislike this? twats.

  • I would also do anything for another minute with Elanor!

  • @thetm102 Dude. That's Simon's deceased Mother. Kinda disrespectful no?

  • @thecrossfirecasualty Hardly! I'm not making fun of her, I'm not saying anything personal about her. I'm simply mentioning her name.

  • @thetm102 Ah my bad. Thought you were making a bad taste sex gag.

  • @thecrossfirecasualty No bother dude!

  • the most beautiful video in the world!

  • This was about his mum, who died while making puzzles :( sad, such a lovely song.

  • I can't believe 13 people could be so hartless?!?!

  • The 13 people should come back when they've been through what's he has been through and then listen to this song. Until then they are not worthy to be called human

  • For Simon to hold it together playing this takes more balls than I can even imagine.

  • This song is so much better acoustic. Fuck, the harmonising is awesome, this band is far too good to say how down to earth they are. Such an inspiration, and you can tell Simon is holding back so much emotion whilst letting it out at the same time. If my maw died I wouldn't be able to speak her name let alone sing such a beautiful song.

This is what modern music should be.

  • AMAZING

  • 13 people who don't know what music is go fuck off and listen to justin bieber

  • one of my closest friends suffer depression and finds it hard to deal with life as they get bullied for who they are and this song always makes me think of them its so beautiful and gives them hope :') thanks biffy

  • Its not going to be gold plated is it?

  • @ChrisBermingham16 No, it's something much more precious than gold plate. That is the pure gold or solid silver of truth and genuine feeling .

  • That xylophone looks like they picked it up at a toystore minutes before the recording, but it's awesome none the less

  • All about his mum who passed away :'(

  • Mon' the xylophone !

  • Theres something terrible in the truthfulness of this song .It seems intrusive. to write anything. It's so piteous and bereft .

  • saw this live, cried like a child. this song is dedicated to my best friends dad who sadly passed away, rest in peace barry<3

  • Beautiful. Damn nearly cried!

  • this song makes me tear up

  • @renegadepoptard it did't for me untill i found out what it was about :(

  • simons is so admirable being able to sing this without bursting into tears

    Was beautiful.

  • @calvinio1234 i saw them to! it was so sad and emotional and yet so brilliant

  • @NiaCorr Oh dear that's so horrible :'(

  • biffy clyro are amazing and i totaly agree with xtoastiex biff are all about the music its clear when uve seen them live, i seen an interview with Simon and he said that the band would rather be 10 people number 1 band than a 1000 peoples number 10 i think this shows the dedication to creating music like they do. i love biffy :D cant wait to see u for the 5th time in Nov, also i play my unborn baby biffy when shes not kicked in a while :D

  • @xtoastiex1 Yeh - Thats why they sold out to Syco? I remember U2 fans saying the same thing in the early '80's - you kow, before they used the famine in Africa to shamelessly promote themselves?

  • so emotional, it's about his mother isn't it?

  • Yeah, his mum died in 2004, and God knows i know his pain, nothing is ever enough to fill that hole.

  • yeah, you can really feel it in the song can't you

  • about his mother who died before Puzzle was released, and this song is about that

  • nah it's about his mum Elenor who died

  • He does get emotional you can see it even in this video but that doesn't mean that he would never play it. He is using this song as a plea to let his Mum know how he feels.

  • Does anyone know where I can find a tab for this version?

  • A glockenspiel

  • Nah, Its a xylophone i think.

    The glock has wooden keys...

  • other way around..

    xylophone = wood

    glockenspiel = metal

  • whats the correct name for the blue thing at 14 seconds

  • i got them in school lol.

I thought that a glockenspiel had more of a metallic sound so glockenspielmabobber it is

  • glockenspiel i thnk it german for bell play

  • woah

  • My favourite biffy song, no wait, my favourite song full stop... Love it, love the lyrics, so glad there's an acoustic, beautiful.

  • This was written about his mother, when she was in hospital "In a bedroom with no windows or doors" dying, Machines was written after she died. Simon doesnt like playing either live anymore and seems to never play this one. It's pretty sad, glad he shared it with us though.

  • Yeah theres a meaning. I'ts a song devoted to his late mother, she passed in 2003 I believe. Eleanor was her name, as you might guess.

  • woooooooooo nice love the song but this is top

  • Simon is so brave to play this..such talent aswell...Mon the Biff!!!

  • why is he brave? is there a story behind the song?

  • its about his mum they dont play it live anymore

  • @OKLangers If I was him, what this song is written about, i'd cry everytime i played it :/
