the mistake they did was the chorus...one of their vocals need to be lower bc their vocal styles clash...and the only place that i would split parts wouldve been at the bridge and give brandy one whole verse and the same with bey....but hey thats just me personally but good song though

She has a boomy voice, and it's strong, but she sacrifices tone quality for volume. Brandy has shown many different vocal cadences and textures of her voice, Beyonce lacks dynamic variation and control. Brandy's more versatile vocally because she does more than belting, hitting high notes, runs, and loud vocals.
Beyonce is far from the best vocalist in the game, IMO...And as far as being untouchable vocally, she's very accessible...she's a good singer, but underrated because her performances & dance routines outshine her vocal ability, but that's already overhyped by her fans. Brandy's versatile, but can be evasise vocally because she's dabbled into various vocal stylings since her debut. She can give you Beyonce vocally, but that's not her signature, but her vocal ability should NOT go unrecognized.
To be honest, I heard Beyonce's version first & was a lil surprised @ her vocal challenges. It's almost like she's an amateur (I could sing this). Then I heard the mix with Brandy & honestly Brandy's voice was sultry, sexy, & more convincing that she wanted 2 make slow love. I'm a fan of both ladies so there's no bias here. Just my observation of talent on this particular song.

I've never heard Brandy say anything like that. The numbers, record sales, and tour figures are nice, but the critical acclaim and respect from other musical peers matters more to me. And Brandy has that, both from music legends and icons that came before her and after her, so that's all that matters to me.

I have to step on some toes...Brandy's fan base is INCREDIBLY lazy...I mean, this woman takes time, she takes at least 3-4 years between projects to make solid, quality music, and yet that's not enough for people to buy Brandy's albums nowadays...Beyonce hardly takes breaks, and she can rerelease an album 50 million times, but her fans will BUY it every time. She could still sing good but she lost a little bit of that silkiness to her voice that her fans fell in love with. Second she jumped from an R&B tone that we all love to pop which was ok to me but not as good as when she did R&B. Thirdly she makes these hot unreleased tracks then doesn't put it on the album. When you hear the album its just mediocre 04 and 08.

That's when she gained her adult voice. 2nd, Brandy's always experimented with different sounds, that's why none of her albums sound alike. 3rd, no matter what genre she sings, there's always traces of her voice in her R&B roots, like her harmonies, riffs, and ad libs. Finally, Brandy has a LOT of unreleased songs. She's not always in control of what makes it to her albums.

I know her next album will be another album of REAL quality music. Trust me.

Have you heard the lower register notes she hits on Afrodisiac and Human on songs like Focus, Where You Wanna Be, and The Definition? Acapella is one of Brandy's best songs and it's off of Human, and it's a vocal masterpiece. It shows how she can build a perfect song just with her voice, and it shows why she's the Queen Of Harmonies.

@circuits99 Your ears are drawn to singers who only have those "churchy" booming voices. Other than Beyonce, I bet you adore singers like J-Hud, Fantasia, or even Xtina. That's not my thing when it comes to singers. I like singers who can do more than the usual: church riffs, ad libs, and belt and hit high notes. Singers that have multiple vocal textures, GREAT tone, have good lower registers like Brandy, Toni Braxton, Jazmine Sullivan, Gladys Knight, Kelly Price, not YOUR kind of vocalists IMO.

She has a boomy voice, and it's strong, but she sacrifices tone quality for volume. Brandy has shown many different vocal cadences and textures of her voice, Beyonce lacks dynamic variation and control. Brandy's more versatile vocally because she does more than belting, hitting high notes, runs, and loud vocals.

Beyonce is far from the best vocalist in the game, IMO...And as far as being untouchable vocally, she's very accessible...she's a good singer, but underrated because her performances & dance routines outshine her vocal ability, but that's already overhyped by her fans. Brandy's versatile, but can be evasise vocally because she's dabbled into various vocal stylings since her debut. She can give you Beyonce vocally, but that's not her signature, but her vocal ability should NOT go unrecognized.

To be honest, I heard Beyonce's version first & was a lil surprised @ her vocal challenges. It's almost like she's an amateur (I could sing this). Then I heard the mix with Brandy & honestly Brandy's voice was sultry, sexy, & more convincing that she wanted 2 make slow love. I'm a fan of both ladies so there's no bias here. I've never heard Brandy say anything like that. The numbers, record sales, and tour figures are nice, but the critical acclaim and respect from other musical peers matters more to me. And Brandy has that, both from music legends and icons that came before her and after her, so that's all that matters to me.

I have to step on some toes...Brandy's fan base is INCREDIBLY lazy...I mean, this woman takes time, she takes at least 3-4 years between projects to make solid, quality music, and yet that's not enough for people to buy Brandy's albums nowadays...Beyonce hardly takes breaks, and she can rerelease an album 50 million times, but her fans will BUY it every time. I just wish Brandy's fanbase were driven like Beyonce's, I hope Brandy finds a solid, faithful fanbase to stand by her no matter what.

She could still sing good but she lost a little bit of that silkiness to her voice that her fans fell in love with. Second she jumped from an R&B tone that we all love to pop which was ok to me but not as good as when she did R&B. Thirdly she makes these hot unreleased tracks then doesn't put it on the album. When you hear the album its just mediocre 04 and 08.

That's when she gained her adult voice. 2nd, Brandy's always experimented with different sounds, that's why none of her albums sound alike. 3rd, no matter what genre she sings, there's always traces of her voice in her R&B roots, like her harmonies, riffs, and ad libs. Finally, Brandy has a LOT of unreleased songs. She's not always in control of what makes it to her albums.

Have you heard the lower register notes she hits on Afrodisiac and Human on songs like Focus, Where You Wanna Be, and The Definition? Acapella is one of Brandy's best songs and it's off of Human, and it's a vocal masterpiece. It shows how she can build a perfect song just with her voice, and it shows why she's the Queen Of Harmonies.

Brandys music has meaning though. Her songs are classics. Single Ladies and Diva? Do you actually listen to the words of those songs? Theres nothing behind them. Brandy's worse album(sales) Human was 10x better than I am Sasha Fierce. I just ask u to compare the words in the songs for each album.

@Lwco2009 I said nothing about the quality of their voices. I never said Bey was a better singer. Classics are decided by many different factors. Single Ladies, Crazy in Love, even Irreplaceable are light and fluffly. But they'll go down as classics. But I think it's awfully funny that when talk of quality comes up, folks always wanna talk about those songs, but never mention "Me, Myself and I" "Flaws and All" or even "Halo." Those are heavy number either, but they're of more substance.

The background vocals she does, no one else can do it like her. I cant explain how great she is. People mistake oversinging for great singing these days. She is one of the best. People can disagree if they want but anyone that knows music will tell you that Brandy's style and tone is untouchable. :)
