nice video, such good quality. Everyone saynig this version sucks should go and try to orchestrate even one piece of music and find out how to appriciate music not just based off of vocals. Not to mention his vocals were clean. everyone screws up.. GOD!
i love sufjan as much as the rest of you little were-wolfs, but this sucks. it sounds like he doesn't even care anymore. lazy tempo shifts, out of tune vocals, etc. if this is the new arrangement there is trouble in the air. i request the old choral sound comes back. his voice sounds bad about ninety percent of the time live. he is not magic.
@BenjaminCole23 Haven't you ever heard of the saying "If you can't say anything nice, Then don't say anything at all?" Especially about a musician you say you "Love".
@BenjaminCole23 I think he still wanted to play the song, and is arranging it to fit the band he has with him at the time. There are no violins on this tour.
It's actually not new, he wrote it for I believe his last tour, but he did make it more electronic. His old version was more piano. None the less I hands down agree, this is my favorite song of his, not matter the version :)
Snowbird, your sister said you needed me...

This is really good. It sounds a little sketchy in the true sense of the word - like they're working on something. I like the drumming particularly.

I love this, except for the background singer. It sounds like she's having a hard time reaching the higher notes. Other than that, the song is great.

Each song he played in Ithaca is around 9 minutes, ten minutes max.
And on tour? Yes? No?
He was probably tired, like how musicians would feel when on tour.
Those lights must've been annoying after some time.
So shaky is natural. Plus live.
And how people think every move Sufjan does as "miraculous"? Preposterous.
I mean, you have to admit, he's good. He's amazing. But I really don't think people think he's perfect. Besides, perfect would be boring.

I love Sufjan, and this song is amazing, but that guitar near the end was a little shaky...

@BenjaminCole23 I don't really agree. i think it's quite an exaggeration to say his voice is bad about 90% of the time.
codered577 1 year ago 2
@codered577 yes it was an exaggeration. the whole comment is pretty silly. i was just tired of people acting like eveything he does is miraculous.

nadiine is playing an autoharp

There isn't an Autoharp in this song. If you mean the high pitched instrument-- that's a celeste or celesta I believe.
