  • Looks like an expensive Kia Sportage

  • Those seats look like they're lifted right out of a DBS

  • you pay $50,000 for a 4cyl -____-

  • @grifster981234567890 same thing with f 30 3 series. all car manufacturers are down sizing nowadays, aslong as it is just as powerful as bigger engines who cares

  • he's a moron

  • Looks & feels much cheaper in person, and I had no idea it was so small.

  • There's nothing wrong with buying a car for its looks. Toyota would have you believe that a vehicle's aesthetics is unimportant. Nothing could be farther from the truth. This RR is a great alternative to those ugly Toyota and Honda vehicles.

  • @HuntSeatRookie Evidence/Sales figures say otherwise

  • @HuntSeatRookie don't lump honda in with toyota, I feel that at least Honda has some style

  • most people will buy this based on looks.

  • It's fast for a suv how fast do need it to go

  • I doubt long term reliability is included in the price.

  • cool car but i could see that they were not very sure of its off road ability. The gravel road they were on my camaro could of gone on and has.I would like it for the on road going through the snow though that the awd has.Sometimes you need the ground clearance that my 2500 dodge 4x4 just so you dont get stuck in the middle of the road after or during a snowstorm!

  • At more than a full second faster than a Jeep Grand Cherokee V6 and about the same as the V8, the Evoque 4 banger starts to make sense. 28 MPG will sway a lot of people who wouldn't have considered a R.R. in the past.

  • @duaneadam faster or not, i think fuel mileage is the selling point in today's market. Still, good point you made there

  • Saw one at a parking lot beautiful car

  • Cool a 2 door kia soul

  • Well the 3 door does look somewhere between 'good' and 'nice', which is to say way better than most SUV's (I can't think of a better looking one at the moment). 6.9 seconds to 60mph and 135mph top speed is pretty sporting too.

If you've got a posh girlfriend and plenty of wedge then I don't see why not.

  • I hope no one buys this thinking it is a real offroader. I remember topgear testing it and coming to a halt to something that my Xterra 4x4 or any jeep 4x4 (compass and patriot excluded) would not even break a sweat over.

  • Now it reminds me of the FJ Cruiser. (hint: roof)

  • It's as fast as a brand new regal GS... and with 30 less hp! I guess this reveals the extent of GM's failure with that car...

  • vw touareg instead, more reliable (XD), more luxurious, same price, better offroad, more fuel efficient, and faster. Why wouldnt you buy touareg over this?

  • @gadgetguy4000 It's nowhere near as good looking.

  • @reevsaj true but still the vw is better

  • @gadgetguy4000 First of all, it makes almost on par mpg with the Touareg. The Evoque is rated at 18/28 mpg while the Touareg TDI makes 19/28. The Evoque would win out because diesel is more expensive than gasoline. Secondly, the Evoque looks way better than a Touareg. Third, VWs are known as women's cars. Fourth, the Evoque has a sportier suspension than the Touareg so it feels more like a sports car. Finally, the TDI has the same quickness as the Evoque but costs $6k more.

  • @morebarsmoreplaces24 the touareg gets wayy better gas milage look it up and looks isnt everything and vw beetles are known as women cars and the touareg is miles better in offroad capability, speed, space, luxury, and tech and the touareg will last longer

  • @gadgetguy4000 Wow. I didn't know it was that great of a car. I guess that's why I only see like 12 of them and ALL women drivers. I did look up the fuel economy. The TDI (which is what I guess you are comparing because otherwise you would have to give up the "better fuel economy" notion altogether with the other engines) makes accd to VW themselves 19 city/28 highway. It is no faster than the Evoque accd to CarandDriver (and may even be slower).

  • @gadgetguy4000 also I have no idea where you are getting "better off road" from. I have not seen a comparison showing that. The Evoque 5-door has more ground clearance than the Touareg (8.5 inches compared to 7.9 inches), an optional skid plate which the Touareg doesn't have, and the Evoque actually has a terrain management system that allows it to switch accd to the terrain which the Touareg doesn't have.

  • @morebarsmoreplaces24 terrain response is a gimmick all you need is ride hight control(which the touareg has and the rangy doesnt), locking rear and front diff(evoque doesnt have while touareg does) and it can go to 11 inches with the ground clearance with ride height control with the touareg

  • @gadgetguy4000 the problem here is you are talking about the 2011 touareg and I am speaking of the 2012 which if we are going to compare apples to apples it should be in the same year as well. the 2012 doesn't have adjustable ride height and i am guessing it also doesn't have the locking differential although they may have kept that. so the evoque makes about the same gas mileage as the TDI while not having to require expensive diesel, has a better off road system, and is sportier

  • @morebarsmoreplaces24 The 2012 Euro spec has just the same off road capability as a normal Range Rover since it has locking front and rear diffs and ride height control. and if its the same as a normal rangy it would pown the evoque. And how is it sportier? The touareg hyrbid or v6 gets 0-60 in 5.8 sec while the evoque struggles to make low 6's

  • @gadgetguy4000 Yeah the EURO spec one. Which isn't available here in the US. And if you are again going to argue speed you need to pick a model. Either you can say the Touareg is faster (which the V6 and Hybrid are) but get's worse gas mileage (both of those are rated at 23 and 24 mpg highway) or you can say it gets the same gas mileage (TDI) but slower. And sportiness isn't just speed. The Evoque has a sportier suspension and has more car-like handling on the road.

  • @gadgetguy4000 You can't just argue two different sub-models in the same sentence and say: the Touareg is both faster and gets better gas mileage. That is misleading. The TDI gets better gas mileage but is slower, while the V6 and Hybrid are faster but get worse gas mileage.

  • @morebarsmoreplaces24 true im sorry the tdi does 6.9 seconds but i would pick the V8 diesel with all the power and torque! The evoque owns the Touareg in a lot of ways and the Touareg owns the evoque in alot of ways too. But you cant argue that that the Touareg is more roomy, reliable, and better offroad with the Euro Spec

  • Mercedes ml over this

  • Future MILF car of america

  • Facts are wrong. The range rover sport is around 190 inches long, and the evoque is 170 inches long. So it is 20 inches shorter.

  • Love the five-door. Now where is my checkbook?

  • It's a rolling fashion statement. Wish it's 10 grands cheaper cuz the motor comes from Ford.

  • simply beatifull

  • I am not feeling it at all............. and i feel bad because im a huge land rover fan and a lover of range rovers but this is.. it looks cheap and blocky, ugly. The interior is way too ford and cheap looking/ And it kind of looks like the new ford explorer =[

  • ANYONE ELSE THINK THIS LOOK LIKE A BIG KIA SOUL?

  • NOpe..Love the look.

  • That looks like a Str8 up Ford Explorer from the outside profile...

  • Wow. Sticker shock really doesn't adequately describe what I'm experiencing right now. I would have guessed a base price closer to $30k. But then again, what the hell do I know?!

  • This is a gorgeous vehicle I love it I'll buy the cheaper version the Ford Explorer basically the same car. The Evoque has alot of different parts from Volvo Ford and LandRover. But I'll still buy it if I had the cash.. Good job Land Rover!!!

  • I really love how that looks!

  • At the same time, the BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Mercedes ML-class , watch out...

  • I know that I will get a bunch of negative remarks for saying this, but the exterior design really seems to hint back at the current ford explorer, especially the overall greenhouse.

  • @jason01020 yep it does

  • @jason01020

Ford owns Land Rover so its likely that this has the shell of an Explorer.

But since its a Land Rover, it can actually go off road, ridiculous amounts of luxury, and well, lets be honest, turn more heads than a Ford can.

  • @medz91xc I'm pretty sure Ford got rid of Land Rover and Volvo a few years ago. If I'm not mistaken, Land Rover is owned by the same company that owns Jaguar.

  • @neostardust

Ahh thank you, my mistake then.

  • @medz91xc Ford doesn't own LandRover anymore TATA Motors owns it now. Ford didn't give up any rights when they sold it so they still share similar aspects on Design and parts with LandRover. GM could have done the same with the Japanese company that was going to buy SAAB but GM pulled out on the last minute they were scared to share the technology they developed for SAAB talk about letting a car Brand just die..

  • @soyntgo4it

My mistake, thanks for the info.

I know about SAAB, its a tragedy. It was probably the most potential-filled company that never took up. Sad, really.

  • @medz91xc i swear whenever GM gets ahold of anything they run it into the ground

  • @soyntgo4it Opps Ford did give the rights..I meant to say.. haha

  • @jason01020 You would get thousands of negative remarks if you were to comment on a Nissan GTR, but not the Evoque. Besides, the points you made about the Evoque are well grounded.

  • Was skeptical of the Evoque at first but I'm starting to come around. I hope they sell the diesel here...
