It's good for his image that he died. As horrible as that sounds. Because the American Gov't is so corrupt in the way it is set up that even if he was elected President, he wouldnt have been able to do much. And maybe that is the biggest crime of all.
I just watched 3 or different versions of this speech and this one was the best and most moving. The speech stands on it`s own I think but this is very well put together.
He wouldn't have become president. Not in the race he'd entered, at any rate. It's an utter impossibility. All he could have done was undercut the leading democratic candidate a little.
Senator Robert F. Kennedy gave this speech just one day after Dr. King was killed. Two months later to the day, he was shot and lived for 24 hours. He died on my birthday. This speech and words of wisdom applies not only to the USA, but the whole world. It will never be forgotten as long as we kill one another. He would have made a brilliant President. Even Republicans from 1968 said he would win the election. Nixon only won by 500,000 votes against a war mongering Vice President. RIP RFK !

So this is why he never became president. So this is why he should've been.

In a later race, sure, possibly.
