the thing is simon cowell hates irish people pure and simple. Every year on the xfactor I'm sure there are quite a few good irish singers but like british t.v love doing they show all the rejects that are irish which give us a bad name

i dont think the judges should decide i think they were a major problem this year. Randy was very obviously on the payroll of archie's dad cuz he constantly critized everyone else and praised him beyond belief when he DIDNT DESERVE IT! Simon didnt help much either, always trying to find some way to push Carly down. The real solution is make the voting age 18. and maybe only able to vote like once or twice. then the real talent will win. Carly is amazing and is at least my idol this year.

America got it wrong for choosing the ONE who forgot the lyrics, restarts the song and makes horrible performances to stay longer in the competition than Carly who gives 180% of her talent in every song that she performs.

she definitely won me over. i didn't like her really in the beginning of the competition just because she was so hyped and seemed so fixed and cus of the past deals and stuff, that it was hard to like her. i tried by watching videos of her interviews when i found out she made top 24, then by top 20 i really got to liking her. i realized she's just as human, new, and fresh to this stuff as anyone else. she most certainly should go do something out there!

In general---ALL the girls SUCK this year. My only exeption would be carly. I think if she were so tatooish, she maybe would have gone further. Plus showing her honey with all the facial tatoos that looks like a freeway underpass in the ghetto didn't help with the mass american appeal.

Definitely a bad call by the voters. Carly is an awesome vocalist with great tone and range, but I need to remind myself that American Idol is more about image and marketability than talent. As long as teenage girls vote for guys like Jason, great singers like Carly don't have a chance!

I agree with you trazyt, they know who and when they are getting rid of everyone. Phone calls are a gimmick so they can "blame" it on America. The real talent doesn't have to go all the way because it just puts them at risk of vocal injury. Simply put, I think Carly was Daughtried. She is HOT!

This happens all the time. People vote for different reasons. People usually like more than one person and some people may have liked Carly more but figure she was safe and didn't vote at all or voted for another contestant they like and thought needed the help, like Jason, for instance. Votes usually make more sense when there are a lot of contestants or less than three but not in the middle.

My daughter made a great point the other night, that American Idol should be only on radio. Instead of 12 year olds voting on little cutsey faced boys, it should be on singing talent, and how they project over the airwaves, and their CD's, etc. The fan based system isn't working!

I'll be honest, part of me doesn't feel the real-ness in the show. It feels a bit staged and when they make mistakes, it's cause they were told to, just so it seems real. I think at the beginning no matter what votes come and go, they already have a winner picked.
