  • in after effects you can isolate the colour...

  • There is no masking it's HSL Filter with desaturation on color channels. 5 hours 13.5 secons of work plus the rendering LOL

  • Isnt it called "color pass"?

  • What's that audio track? would like to know where it came from or who is the artiste!

  • watch?v=pSec_a-ce2s&feature=related

  • you shouldnt have to mask to do this lol. simple chroma keying and a few other simple things

  • looks like sin city

  • the whole film would look awesum with red isolated throughout!

  • when you finish a video in after effects cs5 what format do you use for export? and what compressor? if you use it... thanks i need this information :)

  • there´s no masking it`s a simple leave color filter...1 minute work

  • @studio69product however, he used masks instead... 5 hour work.

  • mmmh yeah iiiiiih!

  • Masking seems like a lot of work for this effect. You can get the same effect much easier by adjusting color curves on ech channel Red, Green, Blue, and the total RGB channel and then using another track of the same footage in greyscale blending the images using the multiply setting.

  • in vegas there is an effect that soully isolates the reds....

  • nice editing .

could you make me a intro?

if you can please send me a msg.

    im a rapper

  • like a combination of 300 and sin city AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • FUCKING WMG!!!!!

  • I guess with the new AE Cs5 this task would be easier to achieve - that is in less time .

  • i think theres a really easy way that requires alot less masking

  • 300 meets Sin City.

  • red colour isolation is insanly cool!!!

  • any 1 know how to do that?

  • @BerLiNorBusTx its called limit effect, in fcp its in colour correction 3-way.

  • at 0:05 theres a flash of grey on his shoulder

  • @danthecat21 Haha

  • @danthecat21 thanks for pointing it out, im sure not one person seen it until you brought it up! you are sharp, you must have eyes of a hawk! you must be a god! you must be the almighty to see that flash of grey on his shoulder! NOBODY BUT YOU SEEN THIS NOT EVEN THE GUY WHO UPLOADED THE FUCKING VIDEO! KILL YOURSELF FAGGOT!

  • This is pretty simple..Its just RED BYPASS FILTER..this effect comes as fx in Sony vegas..its called aac red bypass...in any editing suite..this tool is available..all it do is enhance all red and desaturate the rest...NO BIG DEAL...

  • Fail, On Sony Vegas, its mapped out for you, its done for you. But on software like Final Cut Pro its completely different.

If you want to say its simple, then please use the example of Professional Editing software, not Vegas :L

  • I said that creating the exact same effect is easy..I know in FCP or AE.We can do colour isolation for any colour we need..to be frank I am not familiar with FCP...me neither a PRO..

  • @swordfish54321 Yea the above is no big deal.

Big deal is when someone takes the time so your dont get litle blurts of "skin tone" popping in and out, and get a constant red only... ect..

  • this looks good and is very useful for a "flashback" effect

  • Nice! Looks good.

  • wtf is the point it doesnt even look good

  • FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

    @ WMG

  • go to sin city effects

  • tutorial pleeeaaasseeee!!!

  • Color does the best at this.

This was created originally in Color.

    Ya, FCP!

  • lol

i tried doing this, it took me about half an hour, but it looked like shit

i dont have that kind of patience

  • premiere has a plugin effect that will do fairly well at this, depending on the source footage

  • there's nothing really hard about this, in Sony Vegas its just a simple Secondary Color Corrector that can be tuned too any hue.... now if you did this with masking then hats off too you because that would be quite chore, not impossible just requiring much work & with the Secondary Color Correctors available it would be a lot of pointless work but I understand if this is just rial by fire, thats how I learned & did things before I knew of simpler methods. GOODLUCK TOO YOU!!!

  • um I have worked with avid for a while but have never done masks with it. Avid can do it though. But I think it is Avid Adrenaline or Orchestra that has that power. Their computer systems for Avid but are super build with um every Avid pluggin i guess you could say.

  • how can you do this type of work in avid media composer?

  • looks like aLOT of masking

  • it was allot of masking. took me like 5 hours.

but in the long run it paid off. So you have any good videos?

  • Not really just me and my friends screwing around with the camera. I just got After Effects and Sony Vegas though. Me and my friends are working on this horror type film thats gonna be funny. but yea i like the color isolation it looks great.

  • @zombiemaster1369 mppfh dont lie -.- it wasent masking it was just easy color filtering -.-

  • @zombiemaster1369 Dude, Did you use vegas or After effects ?

In both programs you can do a simple colorfilter to get tha similar effect ;)

  • in final cut pro you can do this in about 30 seconds. literally. no masks.

  • plz tell me how can i do it in FCP????

  • The real fun comes when you mix and change the colour of different things in one shot- just use lots of filter layers- and get creative!

  • I think there's a tutorial somewhere for you to do it on colour from the final cut studio suite.

  • hey do you know where i can get that tutorial

  • Yh finalcutklng does one I believe.

  • montagical

  • @JohnnyBoyf :D All the f*ckin brown wants to show up... gotta mask it all out xP

  • @JohnnyBoyf

nah, its very easy to do this in sony vegas pro, just use color corrector secondary, and use the red color, in that way, only the red will be visible, the green, the blue, the yellow, the green etc will be invisible, its SO SO easy

  • the studio or whoever did this effect jacked it from Schindler's List

  • Just because that movie had red as an isolated color means anyone else who uses it has jacked it?

  • your godamn right!

  • than i'm suing you for being a human

  • im suing you for having the number 23 in your name, satan

  • In that case Schindler's List jacked it from The Great Train Robbery.

  • never saw it, schindler's list is better

  • i'm not saying it's better, i'm saying they did it first... catch up on your film history kiddo.

  • in that case im suing you for referencing history

  • You can do this with sony vegas 8.0

its super easy. just a filter

  • its a filter in after effects too

  • looking for ages...WHEat effect is it in vegas?!?!?!

  • i think its called de-saturate all but reds or something like that, i dont use vegas anymore since i got my Mac

  • It isn't it isn't! keep thinkingggg!!! =(

  • How did you do this?

  • ive made something similair.

  • let me check it out.

  • looks more like their other film Sin City :D
