Sonic Fan Remix is just another reason this fanbase sucks; OF COURSE a fan that has no reason to fear being sued by Yuji Naka for using his coded programming (physics) and making a pretty Sonic game is going to "be better".

I completed the game 100% on XBLA!

Got all emeralds and finished the game, still got about 4 achievements to go though.

Can't wait for episode 2!

I'll be honest, this game was somewhat underwhelming. I think it was too short (I am aware it is episode 1).

I think they should have 5 zones instead of 4 next time.

Also, some of the levels designs were kinda boring. I mean, I only saw 2 or 3 loops.

Also, too many beginners traps.

I think I died too many times at the fault of a poor choice design, rather than my own fault.

I just reviewed the game in a comments box. X-D Still a decent buy though. Worth $15.

Good game! I really like how it feels kinda like a Genesis Sonic game (not exactly, but very close), and at the same time feels extremely fast and acrobatic (one of the things the new Sonic games do well, imo). Also, there were a few parts where I was honestly wowed by the jumps incorporated into the levels, great level design!

I like the game but please, please, please make the iOS version better!

- Sonic's running animations are done completely the wrong way,

- Sonic needs to be a lighter, more vibrant shade of blue like in the other platform versions,

- The game needs to be smoother,

- It needs to stop crashing most of the time when I'm trying to load levels,

- It needs to adjust to the orientation of the device because when you play it on an iPhone with headphones in it gets annoying.

I'll let you guys in on a little serect, if you collect all the chaos emeralds and beat the final boss, try to collect all the rings in the ending scene after the final boss for a serect event in that ending, xbox users will want to do this for an avatar award.

...and just so you know its not easy to do unless you remember where all the rings are and time jumps.

Mediocre game with lots of potential. The level layouts are fantastic. It's the physics that hamper Sonic 4. Please, SEGA, work out the kinks in the physics for Episode II. The physics don't need to be just like the originals'. They just need to not suck!

Sega what ever you don't add no grinding in the game that'll ruin the classical gameplay the game is good as is but it needs some adjustments like sonic's speed momentem like in the classic games when you make sonic run at full speed and stops his speed will decrease and then he'll stop but in sonic 4 he stops instinly so can you fix that sega for episode 2

To think, perhaps in 30 years time (50th Anniversary) people will say "I hope they remake that classic level from Sonic 4", making this game a special benchmark in Sonic's history.

Bravo, Sega. I bought it launch day and loved it! Only real complaints were gaining speed with the speed dash and being a short game for its price. Just fix those and add 2 player patch-connection to the next episode with Tails or Knuckles!

Great game! Awesome to see Sonic back!!!! Although it's way too easy and the final boss is way too hard... its a weird difficulty jump :P And I hate Eggman with his Japanese name and redesign outfit... bring back Robotnik! :P One last thing, the fact that sonic starts out walking and not jogging is really different and just not as good as the old games :o

Sega, when you want me to pay 1200 MS points and the name of the game is S'onic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 1'. That means you have Episode 2 in the works then right? So why should I pay 1200MS points if it's not even finished and you've just sliced up the game into 2(or more) parts and want me to pay full price for half a game. : /

If Sonic 4 Episode I costs 13~15€, you have just paid a quarter part.

You'd need 4 episodes to pay for a real game.

So yeah, what's good about this? You can try one or two episodes and if you don't like 'em you wouldn't have paid too much for it (As it happens when you buy a normal expensive game).

@DGpresents Nope, no metal sonic at all. Closest to a race is a sonic 1/sonic CD style "chase dr robotnik" intro to the lost labyrinth boss fight. Also, for the handful of people who see this comment before it get's pushed down. DO NOT GET EMERALDS ON SPLASH HILL UNTIL YOU HAVE 3 LEFT. I got the first 3 emeralds on splash hill and now I have to play through longer levels each time I want to play a special stage for one of the harder emeralds 'cos of some lame "1 emerald per level" thing :|
