This song shows how's my future bride-to-be Pall ah* & myself are and should be are in feeling to each other because you sees she is sweet and she gives the time of the day to be with me a lil bit, she is like an angel in a vision but though she is an earthbound type besides I really appreciates what she does for me¡ ;D
Today's artisit need to pay attention to Captain and Tennille's music style, professionalism and attitude, they showed the world how great music is preformed, written ,and lasts forever! Their musically abilties and talent are amazing.
Notice at the end of the song, they sing "Sedaka is back!". Toni and Darryl were big fans of Neil Sedaka and chose this song that he co-wrote. Sedaka was re-launching his career at this time (1974) and had just released an album in the U.S. called "Sedaka's Back" (on Elton John's label). This was a plug they wanted to give him. They even had Sedaka as their opening act on the road and Las Vegas, until he got a bigger crowd response than THEY did!
I remember walking underneath the big Turbo carnival ride at our fair in 75 this song just came out and they were blasting it from the loudspeakers. it paced perfectly with the ride.
@got2livelaughlove I was 7 in 1975 and it was a wonderful year. I remember LWKT back in June of 75. Things were better for children. Didn't have the problems they have now. Food tasted better, clothes were better, women looked decent for a change, men dressed better.
I love this freakin song! I was born in 77, so I was apart of that generation who began to see the 70's disappear slowly as the 80's entered in. However, I remain to love these classic tunes I heard over and over as a kid. Its the same for classic shows from that decade that ran into the 80's like 3's Company, All in the Family, and Starsky and Hutch for just a few examples. I have this particular song on the Starsky and Hutch soundtrack for the motion picture. I love this song. Big music fan!
I love these really early clips too Darren!! I hate it that they had to tell everyone that they were married when Love Will Keep Us Together came out but I understand all the reasoning behind it. You are so so right Toni is so talented and she looks so beautiful in these early clips but then she looks beautiful in the older clips as well!
You are so right, nicsfan4ever. Besides looking beautiful, Toni also looks very sweet and innocent in both early and recent clips. And she always will.
Love this song..
