  • great vid. Total space pr0n XD

  • lmao at "FARTERSPARTERS"... ;)

  • It does not even look real! Its flipen SWEET.

  • My first reaction was "this has to be CGI", but I'll be, it's completely real. About time they put a camera on the SRBs, considering they are recovered. Id like to see this from liftoff to splashdown

  • That is such a cool angle.

  • Feel sorry for the cameraman on the SRB.#;>

  • thanks. after thinking about it, thats what i thought.

So.....WHEN does the big tank separate? And where does it land or go?

  • It seperates a few minutes after the solid rocket boosters do. It doesn't land, most of it burns up in the atmosphere, and what's left harmlessly drops into the ocean. It's the only expendable portion of the Shuttle stack. The rocket boosters are recovered and used again on later missions.

  • WOW, thats interesting!

  • Pretty sure that big tank separates a little bit after the SRB's and then it falls back and is not recovered

  • What do they do with the large center tank? why isnt it blowing any fire out of it?

  • It's just a tank that holds the liquid fuel. It, in and of itself, isn't used to propell the shuttle. The two boosters on the side and the shuttle itself are.

  • That is a cool shot I never saw before. Thanks!

  • that's wicked!
