Hi, great playing, I hope I can play like that in the future. I am coming up to grade 8 now and I am looking to purchase a tuba. I have looked around and found out that besson is a great make, and I have tried out a few besson 981's they have all been great, but I would like to know your opinion. I am 13 and this is going to be the first tuba I own, I'm looking into becoming a proffestional when I'm older :D
@CorvetteCoonass Meinl-Weston? well, my B&S is pretty good. It's a tad bright, takes alot of effort, v smooth, a 5/4 feels like an Eb after playing it.
@joshopsho The only 6/4 tuba I have ever played was a Conn 25J, and that took all the energy I had, and all the space in my chair to play it. But I have noticed on both the Conn and the MW that the 3rd partials were always flat, so that's why I was curious about the intonation of your B&S. I was just hoping not all larger tubas had the horrible intonation issues of the ones I've played.
@CorvetteCoonass well tuning is kind of a fluid concept on C tubas I guess. I'v not played a bad B&S C and I'v tried out a fair few. Tell U what, rather than get too technical, I'll put up a vid of some Bordogni next week and you be the judge? Should give you a better feel for my C.

This is really good. You should post it on the Musical Overture site so more recruiters and conductors will see it.

How's the intonation on the B&S? I play a MW 2155R and the intonation is horrible.
