this song was short lived...ive been seeking it for years being nameless, until now doing a search of "been down heartache baby" alas! thanks for posting lyrics, the audio kinda sucks but thanks again
Just always hit me as a "deep" song ya kno? One of the ones that hits an emotion somewhere inside, probably because of the "I've been downhearted parts"
I remember this song from 1997.I was going out with this woman, the type you cant believe would go out with you. A year full of alcoholism, valium, and depression. She left me before to long. Who can blame her.I can listen to this song now and thank God Im still alive.
So what's the best aspect of it (or what is your favorite part of it)?
I love the piano solo; How it plays out of time with the rest of the rhythm.
I really love the voice in the background at 4:01 that sounds like it's being heard through a tin can that has a hole in both ends and there's a strip of wax paper on one end.
I think the best part is where Chris sings "I've been downhearted baby...." towards the end in a different octave as patronsaint was saying, and the keyboard just before it.
I've listened to this song about 60 times..today.

I have loved this song since I was a little kid
I like how at the end he finally sings the sample "I been downhearted baby..."
I think that unified the entire song, before that the lyrics seemed a bit disjointed
What is this tin can device you are talking about? What is it supposed to do?
My friends like to record strange sounds so I would love to know
