  • when it comes to hpv ,I hate how many people are using the word "end".It's not the end, start your new life ”herpesanddating, net"

  • whys he sound like hes laughing

  • If one partner was infected with HPV, the other partners chance of also being infected with the same HPV type increased over 50 times.

The doctor recommend me a HPV dating site named =====" HPVmatch, net" ===== .

  • It's an infection, not a disease

  • the immunity from this vaccine is though to last approximately 5 years, giving it to 9 year olds means that it will have worn off before they reach the age of consent 16. This vaccine will act as an immunocontraceptive device thus helping solve the age old government problem of teenage pregancy. Watch this space and see whether the teenage birthrate drop!

  • Great comment

  • i've been told that HPV causes 70% of cervical cancer, not 99.9%

  • indeed, it's not 99.9%, stupid americans

  • "Mr. President, it is not only possible, it is essential. That is the whole idea of this machine, you know. Deterrence is the art of producing in the mind of the enemy... the fear to attack. And so, because of the automated and irrevocable decision making process which rules out human meddling, the doomsday machine is terrifying. It's simple to understand. And completely credible, and convincing."

  • propaganda

  • Doctors only know what they are told by the drug companies!!! And if it doesn't work come back and try something else! Drug companies are not in the business of making people well. They are in the business of selling drugs!!! The more sick people the more money they make!

  • @dewzs

    Absolutely right.

It's common sense to realise that organisations who stand to make billions upon billions of dollars, pounds, euros, yen across the world from people being sick, ill & in a lot of pain, are not going to be motivated to helping people to be fit, well & healthy.

It's just shocking how this thought does not occur to people

  • This is not surprising as the vaccine prevents initial infection from the most common types of HPV (HPV 6/11/16/18). It does not cure an existing infection or prevent infections from non-vaccine types (according to the label).

  • Merck Markets its vaccine, though yet unproven. How about the Meningococcal vaccine, which causes an often horrible and sudden death, especially in college students? We cannot forget that Merck sold us its Vioxx, the "Pain Killer" that is no more of a "Pain Killer" than aspirin but caused death and cost the public Billions of Dollars.

  • Dear Fellow Physician,

I am concerned about Merck's marketing campain regarding Gardasil. Merck® is very skilled at marketing a product to the politicians so that the public is made to pay $400 for 8 million doses! Though about 3,500 to 4,000 people die of cervical cancer per year, more die from suicide and 600,000 die from tobacco/alcoholism. How about the uininsured?

    Cordially/Luis Lomeli MD

  • Although only a few thousand girls and women die from cervical cancer in the US, many more get cervical cancer or cervical precancers and subsequent treatment to keep them from dying. Globally, nearly half a million girls and women die from cervical cancer caused by HPV and vaccines against HPV have the potential to save millions of lives in the years to come. Regarding the uninsured, Merck and the Federally funded Vaccines For Children (VFC) fund provide the vaccine free of charge.

  • 9 years old... that is disgusting. The studies done where and when? I'd like to see the studies.

I also have a question about the men in all of this. Is there a test for male HPV?
