I love this video Jason! Well put together. It gives me something to look forward to again once the 3 feet of snow is off the ground here in the Canadian Rockies.
You're actually supposed to shoot trap with both eyes open, cause you're not supposed to look at the barrel when you shoot, but you look at the target and the barrel follows your eyes
Jason, great video! Been shooting Skeet for several months, but now shooting Trap as well. Loving Trap! Wish I could have "Click Clcik Boom" playing while I shoot. Thanks again for posting your videos.
Bang Bang, where can I get one of those cool t-shirts? I have cats, shoot trap, skeet, 5-stand and have three guns for that. However no Perazzi.....not yet.
do you shoot trap with both eyes open? i have a state trap shoot friday and i always shoot with one eye open? i see the side of the gun and the sights when i open both eyes. please respond any answers from anyone will be appreciated.
I know the gun is a free sponsored gift, so he just don't care.
But shooters, please don't just slam the gun together when you close it.
You have to close it slowly while holding on to the closing "lever" (don't know the english word). Otherwise you will hurt the mechanics and could trigger a shot.
@Flaksting Actually, I paid for it myself. And you're right, it is better for the gun to be closed easy. However, that gun was designed to be extremly durable and while slamming it closed will shorten the life of the locking mechanism, it will still last a very long time. Long enough for me to feel comfortable that it's indeed locked and not be distracted by worrying about it. Thanks for the compliment and for watching!
Skeet is "game" using clay pigeons/tragets ...then he shoots "Trap" ....Pretty confused young man .......BANGBANG maybe he should just say ,I have an expensive gun look at me . That makes more sense on this video. LOL
agreed. great machine there mate. i use a miroku, but i want to up grade. just cant afford something as nice as your perazzi... what model is that one by chance? maybe if i sell some drugs, and rob some milk bars i can afford something as nice as that. to perhaps lift my scores a little.
@Seaofash Try reading the info attached to the video. The video was made for a kickball team we were about to play that called themselves the "Skeet Throwers". I'm pretty certain I know what the proper terminology is for the various shooting disciplines. Now, who's the moron... ?
@mustangman223 Thank you! I haven not tried it. Although I really want to. There's no place around close enough that has the proper set up. From what I do know of it, I agree, much more difficult. Thank you for watching!
@walman16 Actually they aren't reloads. I normally don't shot Nitros except for Handicaps. I just happened to have some extra boxes of them at the time. However, that gun is pretty heavy and very well balanced so, they aren't as bad as you'd think.
What type of shoes are you wearing? Wow, the whole setup is perfect, from apparrel to form. I've got a bt-100, but I am saving up to buy a Perazzi. Great Video!
@KingJayByrd Lol... they are Asics Kayano, they are my running shoes. Browning is a great gun! Good luck with your shooting! And, thank you for your compliments!

just got a Browning Citori Lightning 12 gauge, 28" barrel--absolutely love it. I know it's a field gun but have been having a blast at trap, skeet and sporting clays. Thanks for the fun video.....when will you do another?!?!?!
Trap is awsome, right now I am using a model 58 remington set up with a vented rib 30 in. barrel with a timny trigger system. The gun is 40 years older than I am.
OK...so I have been trap shooting for about 2 months and am hooked. Shot a 20 and am TOTALLY HOOKED. Have been renting a Citori...feels good, but am concerned it's a bit heavy if I wanted to get into sporting clays....thoughts? I am a female and like the stability of a heavier gun for trap.
You really look like you have fun at doubles. Seriously--I get my "fix" watching the clays disappear! Thanks.
Excellent on your 20! That's very good! I'm glad you enjoy the sport too!
It's hard to say what's best for you. Everyone's different of course. Plus, you'll hear a thousand opinions about what you should do at the trap field (rolling my eyes). The best thing is to keep doing what you're doing with what you have and try other guns as you can. You'll get a feel for what YOU need. Not what others think you should have.
Thank you! The low recoil is the result of the design of the gun. Plus, although they are considered more powerful in trapshooting, the shell I was using is relatively light. (Remington Nitro). The chokes are; modified on bottom and full on top.
Thank you. The gun really is nice and I'm fortunate to have it. There were certainly sacrifices made with other hobbies in order to purchase it. No regrets though. Thanks again!
Beretta 682 gold e are a good trap gun not even half the price of a perazzi, 19 of the guys at our club have them. One is the current DTL World Champion!!!
I have a Browning XT and I am quite happy with that. I have also tried Perazzi MX3 and I found it nice with good swing, but the best shotgun that I ever tried was Blaser F3. I never forget the round of shooting with that gun in Ohio. Light, wonderful swing, minimum recoil and beautigul pattern. It was around 10K for a combo :(
Why not use the SX3 or a Benelli semi auto so you can go - click click click click click click click click click click click click ... boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom!
I shoot dtl (down the line) abt (automatic ball trap) and i use a browning cynergy but in a few years time im going to be moving to a perazzi or possibly a kreighoff and by the way phemmi01 they cost start £5999 british pounds roughly 10,000 dollars. nice gun tho :)
I shoot trap, skeet, 5-stand, and sporting clays, and it's not ever called a "skeet". It's called a "clay". After competing nationally in trapshooting and state in sporting clays and skeet shooting as well as working at an Olympic shooting range, I've NEVER heard anybody say they hit that "skeet". That's like shooting 5-stand and saying you hit a stand, or going trap shooting and hitting a trap.
squrelbate - While we are very impressed with your shooting resume' try to understand, a lay person often does call a clay target a skeet not knowing better. We're very certain that we do know the difference. This video was made in fun for another kickball team named the Skeet Throwers. This was noted in the info section above. You may want to look at that first before commenting next time, otherwise you may be mistaken for a prick.
Not at all. What coaches suggest is using full choke for single in practice and in competition you can open it up a little bit to IM. With IC you definitly miss targets on post 1 and 5 considering the hard left or hard right targets take some more time to swing and by that time target is too far for an IC choke.
I really love the switch...I also use full in practice but still like to use ic for comp. 1 and 5 are some of my easier stations but2 seems to get me sometimes. I am also a very fast shooter so the ic is perfect for me.
It depends on what you call good? Yes, its kind of good if you want to shoot singles (16 yard line) and only singles. But for handicap, its a horrible idea. Trapshooting is about precision, not about scrambling to the target and pulling the trigger when you are close to it. With an IC choke, you can get away with that. But in your handicap, where you are forced to use a tighter choke, such as an IM or Full, you loose you ability to be "only close to" the target.
Semi-Automatics are not designed for American Trap/Skeet/Trap.. Super Pozes are. Imagine if you could fire 8 bullets to shoot 2 clays. That would'nt be much of a challenge would it? With 2 rounds you need to be really careful.
P.S I'm only using one. I mean I load only 1 shell in my gun^^ No need for the second.
Plus for the clay sports the O/U is much easier to manage on the line. You can open the action and keep your hull for reloading w/o it flying out to the side. And you can prop the open barrel on your toe (ya lots of us do, the gun is open and unloaded)
I would never prop a pump or semi-auto in the same manner, just not balanced.
Also for hunting US fed law is 3 total in gun for waterfowl, and many state game areas require that as well.
How much do your Perazzi cost? I bought a Breda Semi-Auto and a Mercury Poze for 1300euros both :D In my second trap match I hit 17 out of 25 clay's. Judge me now :D
You won't get any judging from me... nice shooting!
The cost of a Perazzi depends on may things. Used or new and of course the model and options. One like mine new (MX10 RS Combo) would cost somewhere in the $11,000.00 range. While I did purchase mine new I certainly wouldn't have any reservations purchasing a used one.
Great shooting Jason! I shoot trap for my high school`s team and we got 2nd in Tennessee. I use a Remington 11-87 with an extended motified choke...what was your starter gun before the Perazzi?
Congratulations! That's very nice shooting. Before I had the Perazzi I used a Remington 3200 for a few months. But, before that I used a Remington 1100. I shot my first 100 straight with it in fact.
Thanks for watching and you and your team keep doing well!
I shot my 1st 25 with an 1100, and I also took 3rd in the mich. state shoot with it, i normally shoot an 870tc (shot my 1st 100 with it), but I was hoping to get an old 3200, I just love em' but I was told they needed some modifications, I was just wondering if you knew what needed to be done with them, BTW nice shooting!
I love this video Jason! Well put together. It gives me something to look forward to again once the 3 feet of snow is off the ground here in the Canadian Rockies.

That is why I use light full in Handicap tournies, but yes, I shoot mostly singles.

Hi jason,
I'm a olympic trap shooting not in the US, using a Beretta x682 OU.
I see you're pretty good! Nice song also :-)

Thank you!
Beretta 682 is a very nice gun. Good luck with your shooting!

yeah those o/u are pretty much all clay sport guns, although i do use a montefeltro. Im thinking about buying an "atomic cat sickle" i love that
indestructible419 2 years ago
The only bad part about those guns is that you can only hold two shells. My Berreta Extrema can hold 8 shells.

And you can use 2 different chokes, not only 1.

i had a Perazzi and the only good Perazzi is a fitted one! i kno alot of people who cannot get on with them! i stick to brownings/berettas!
JSBergin 2 years ago
How much do your Perazzi cost? I bought a Breda Semi-Auto and a Mercury Poze for 1300euros both :D In my second trap match I hit 17 out of 25 clay's. Judge me now :D
nightmareguy 2 years ago
You won't get any judging from me... nice shooting!
The cost of a Perazzi depends on may things. Used or new and of course the model and options. One like mine new (MX10 RS Combo) would cost somewhere in the $11,000.00 range. While I did purchase mine new I certainly wouldn't have any reservations purchasing a used one.
Thanks for watching the videos!

Great shooting Jason! I shoot trap for my high school`s team and we got 2nd in Tennessee. I use a Remington 11-87 with an extended motified choke...what was your starter gun before the Perazzi?
HALOBOY88 2 years ago
