  • seeing that you guys were using after effects, you guys should get familiar with color correction some of the scenes had very high contrast for example the road was 'white hot' which shouldn't, learning about white balance will also cut down a lot of work. Just keep making more vids and use the experience it definitely help than looking at youtube videos all day long

  • @bijps2shtr check out our newer videos:) i think we've come a long way from this

  • yeah this was lame, the only thing that was a little bit ok was the credits it was to dark and to shaky

  • dream sequence movies are so cliche. music is too overpowering and speed things up in the beginning. fight scene was a little hard to distinguish. second one needed to be faster. that is all. 4 stars.

  • If you like this, you'll like our action short film.

    "From Netflix, with love"

  • If you're experimenting with Greengrass' style you don't have to overdo it. The camera is shaking like hell in scenes where nothing (really) happens. Also, if you DO have shaky action sequences. Turn off steadicam :P

  • why does every short film on youtube have that gay dramatic music at the beginning it gets really old

  • Paul Greengrass didn't do the cinematography for either of those films?...he directed them, the DP was Oliver Wood...But Good Short anyways :)

  • get more CU's (esp. on the face) in the fighting sequence too, there is a lot of emotion in fighting, and the viewer will feel in the actor's shoes more. Keep up the awesome work, guys! It just gets better from here, right?

  • my bad...the shot of the car pulling up was good too...good use of field through the trees

  • a side note: I like the scenery shots as well...setting is important, and it takes the viewer off of the character for just a second to build suspense.

  • It got better toward the end!! It seems that someone else was doing the camera work (and editing, was cut much closer together, with mor CU's after this point - consistency is key) as soon as the guy ran down the driveway to hack the car. It needs live sound pre-recorded with a shotgun mic (not the on-board mic), and a 24 frame flicker. Good work! Shaky cam was slightly overdone...I love the chase-cam when he runs for the car - that was one of the best shots. Good colour and saturation!

  • i guess its okayyyyy

  • u have the idea but take more advice...from them.....take it seriously!!!! but is nice men...good edition!!

  • Alright... It was pretty good... however, first off, if you want to be taken seriously, please cover up the bright orange part of the airsoft guns! Another thing is that yes some movies use very long camera angles however, some of your longer ones were simply to long and to uneventful. If you film a guy walking with the same camera angle with nothing happening, you begin to fall asleep. Other than these pretty good, 4/5.

  • That chick really had some moves!

  • that still makes it all a dream, coz he dreams all the stuff tht happened at the beginning, and it aint a tribute 2 bourne, its a disgrace 2 bourne...

  • thanks for watching!

  • There's something called constructive criticism and there's something called being a cunt. This might not be surprising to you, but you are a genuine cunt. How about you pay attention to details of the angles or the color, or maybe make your own film which I'm sure would be absolutely amazing judging by your personality instead of focusing on counter parts that might not be so good like the plot or the story line. GODDAMN you're a fucking cunt. have a nice day DoHooo

  • OMD, tht was pathetic! the kinder garten plot twist of it being a dream, wow, POOR! the bourne films r quality and u completely ripped them off! LOL at the slow-mo fite scene :S... stop making films please, YOU DISGUST ME!

  • actually, the main twist we were going for was it is about to happen in his real life, not that it was all a dream, note when the music cues in. and more like a low budget homage/tribute to the bourne films.. thanks for watching!

  • @DoHooo agree with you waste of time

  • dude, get a life

  • yah your obviously not a fucking faggot douche bag or anything...and if this were a movie you would pay 10 bux for than you clearly just payed to fucking see it so shut the fuck up

  • haha what??? what u just said didnt even make sense...why r u even commenting on what i said 6 months ago. and how do u kno that i even watched this whole video? haha ur retarded man. this movie isnt in the theatres so why would i pay 10 bucks to see it? are you alright?

  • What I said was clear as fucking daylight. haha. I said if this (as in this movie) were a movie you had to pay 10 bux for (which is what you clearly tried to point out in your previous comments) than you clearly payed 10 bux to see it (in other words you watched the fucking video). and if your saying you didnt watch this whole video and commented on how stupid it was than get the fuck outa here bitch tits. your fucking lame as shit.

  • ha, well said

  • well done!

  • ey man great job.. looks very pro..for a student short film.. you should submit it to samo film festival..

    ojen

  • Great job with this short thriller!

  • nice job!...well written nice plot twist...the fights need some improvement tho...and the pace needs to be faster...overall very well done!

  • lies

  • i like it alot but i just have to mention the true Greengrass style changes changes video clips much more often to different angle, and doesnt often use long continuous shots, it speeds up the action more

  • Filmiings Awesome, Editing Effects Awesome, AK's cool blue preset awesome, acting.. not so much

  • ya i have a tip for ur fist fights. wen they go to punch, speed it up wen editing. just wen they punch.

  • loved it, umm i like ur color correction. its great. and udo u think vids go on to youtube better widescreened?

  • I'm not sure if making the video widescreen helps the quality on YouTube, but it helps in making the video look more "cinematic".

  • i agree

  • Good movie but you should really think about painting the orange tips of the guns black...

  • That's pretty awesome! Much better than I even expected. I'm completely obsessed by the Bourne movies, I think they're amazing, and I thought your short was awesome. I didn't get the plot twist until the phone started ringing. Awesome. LOVE John Powell's music too.

  • BOURNE SI GREAT POWELL IS GREAT YOU ARE GREAT thx man!

  • thanx man, and btw, the story is good, i like it when on the end the moby song and then the guys walk again whit their guns. i live in belgium and i made such a thing here and i was the first kid who ever made a hollywood style action film and i got on the news and stuf because they said i was the new talent from the young generation , but the end credits and stuf are really impressive so keep on doing what your doing !!

  • btw how did you do the end credits thats really good, can you tell me how ??? please i need to know

  • I did those in After Effects. At the time I had the AE7 demo, so things were a lot easier than what I have now, AE6.

But basically I took pictures from the footage, cropped and scaled them to different areas of the screen, and had them appear for a few frames added with fade-in, color correction and other effects to give it that blue look. Also, I added Glow to it too.

  • its good, but the action can be better. when you have something like that , fight scenes, it needs to have shockness and hard, rude. everything has to be fast, take more long shots and walk a round more but edit fast. when somethings happens like a big action , don't cut it whit various shots, like a car chrash its spectaculair when it is in one shot if it happens fast but its hard to do. can you tell me how did you do the coulours or what efect becausse i like that !!

  • I basically tweaked the "Levels", just the red hues though, which brought more green into the picture and less red.

Then I upped the contrast a little and toned down the brightness.

  • I LOVE the colour tones you put in! This is yet again amazing

  • another 5 stars.

Im watching one vieo of yours a day with a few to go.

welcome to the feature section of my channel.

  • very cool. thanks!

  • Hey that was actually really good. One thing you could work on thou is the fighting. Too slow. But otherwise, excellent. How did u get the credits like that?

  • In most of the Bourne Ultimatum trailers the text appears with something similar to the credits in this movie. There just small chunks of pictures that appear for about 2 frames, all in different areas of the screen, with effects added to them.

  • nice!!! what kind of camera you using?

  • A kind of cheap one, JVC GR-D20 Mini-DV...A Walmart one but it works well if you know what you're doing with it.

  • Dude, this was awesome!

Definetly conveyed the style of Paul Greengrass. You know just how to fill every second of any video with a fast paced urgency that is reminiscent of any great director in the action / thriller genre.

    GREATNESS!!!

  • Good stuff here man... thought it was pretty good... the cinematography was perfect like usual! And you always use the coolest music to make the picture even better... but i think the fight scenes could have been a bit better.. other than that... it was sick!

  • that was sick, whish i was there to film

  • yo karl man.. its joe..

you have some sick videos that you have to produce..also man u gotta get me those effects!!!

  • good stuff, could be paced a little faster though

  • Short FIlms like this need to be featured. This is talent and time needed and its entertaining. U need some recognition! lol. GREAT VID!!

  • Good video........The credits were very cool

  • very good filming

  • great work and great editing, 5 stars!

  • Nice, you really got that look down. Made me feel like watching Bourne again.

  • Man- your videos need to be featured. Excellent job. I am going to share your channel with all of my friends!

  • Thanks! Glad you liked it.

  • Man, How Did You Do Those End Credits?! P/M Me!

  • great work, i like the way you use different methods for directing your films, again great work. keep it up

  • that was freakin awesome man 5 stars

  • With a directors account, if you were able to upload videos longer than 10 minutes prior to about a month ago you still should be able to, but if you never have uploaded one longer than 10 minutes I'm not sure if you're able to now...I know they recently changed who could upload videos longer than 10 minutes even if some people with director accounts...

  • how did you get a 13 minute long movie

  • That was awesome. It came out great! I have another question for the poster too, I'll send a message and ask you.

  • Okay, but I think the camera work was kind of shaky and jumpy, and the fist fights were really slow and clumsy.

The editing was good, but the dialog was hard to hear.

  • really captured that Greengrass look in this video

    good job! :P

    btw, Bourne Ultimatum was kickass
