The motion plus is great and all but what really irriates me is when companies sell something and then a few months later improve it. I know it makes ppl buy more from their company, but why not just make the remote with the motion plus the first time?

I think Nintendo should just mass produce a whole new set of WiiMotes with the 1:1 technology built into them and include the new wiimotes with a game that uses the 1:1 technology. This way you don't need to buy this stupid little attachment and you end up with a new super cool wiimote for the games that use the 1:1 technology. And then they could sell addition 1:1 wiimotes (not bundled with a game) for those who have friends that want to play the 1:1 motion games.

I remember that Sony didn't include rumble in their controller and everybody was pissed (including me). Now when rumble is out people are still pissed because Sony should had it at day one.

Now, Nintendo is showing us Wiimote 1:1 motion and many of you guys are glad? This is the exact same bullshit that Sony did. Nintendo should had included this one day one. Now they will charge you 20 bucks for a thing that not even many games will use.

The Wiimote is an inanimate object. It doesn't have a sexuality, therefore it is not 'gay'.

Stop moaning and enjoy the more immersive gameplay this new device will bring. I find it incredible that you find fault with this. You may have to spend a little extra cash, but the games you will be getting should be a lot more enjoyable, and more than make up for it. On the gaming website i visit, everyone is very pleased. If they bring ANOTHER version out in one years time, i will agree with you.

my point being, when u bring in a hardware, which is the "main" thing, the "guest of honor" the "die without" you might wanna make it so that it is future proof and the only ones that are making the upgrades are either third party company, copy cats hardware maker, via putting wiimote and redesign it and release it as their own under copy rights. you would not want to make an improvement because that meant that you are not certain about the product u make and there fore u feel it is fault.

Oh for god sake, don't buy it then! It is an improvement on an already very clever machine. A one off payment to make future Wii games more enjoyable. Don't pay if you don't want to but for people who want more immersive gameplay and to see gaming move on another step, this is great news. It is a big improvement on the already very clever Wii. What we have here is not crap but something that really pushes gaming forwards. If developers push this, it will be amazing! This is a one off payment which is going to massively improve the Wii. You'd rather they stick with the inferior version? I've already said that if they were to release another version, I would agree with you but this is just version 2, which should be massively superior to the first. Really don't see why people are moaning about this. For the price of a game or something you're getting a device which should make all following games a lot more enjoyable than they would have been. :)

well i think it's a GREAT improvement too, but u watch closely at the e3 convention nintendo advertising that sword fighting game in... um... i forgot but u basically use ur mii to practice samurai sword fighting style ish... and if u watch it closely enough, u would see that the lady advertising it (was playing the game) had some hard time with the wii mote and the sword fighting, they were trying not to make it too supplicated so it wont confuse the wii mote even with the wii mote plus.

Gyros were simply too expensive and bulky a few years ago, plus they couldn't legally implement it yet, with the release of the xbox 360, they were pressured into releasing the Wii to compete with the 360. Right now, it is possible to fit the new accelerometers and gyros into the wiimote. which they say they might do later in the future.

Also why couldn't they build a better sensor bar to do what the motion plus thing does?... that way you wouldn't have extra weight added to the controller.

It might be too unwieldy to construct a proper sensor bar. It would have more points that you'd have to put around the tv's frame, or a strange tetrahedron thing protruding from on top of the tv. However, no amount of leds can replicate the results of motion+, since the motions you use with the M+ would be breaking the line of sight between the wiimote's IR camera, and the sensor bar's leds. M+ measure relative motion, while the sensor bar gives reference points to calculate where it points.

I mean it has a friggin 729mhz processor, and overall it is just a bit more powerful than the original xbox.
