Does anyone know of a video that lets you know what Guinea pigs want based on their sounds and squeaks? I sometimes at night here my one of my two guinea pigs make sounds at night but i'm not sure if its bad or anything. Thank you.

@iamtomboy14 Don't quote me on this but I think it's when they are 'unsure' and a little bit scared (more with a high pitch) but they also make that sound when they play? mine tend to do it too I think it's normal :)

Congrats on the new guinea pigs.

Taming guinea pigs takes a lot of patience and time and there is more to it than I can cover here, go to our website and click the forum link, there's lots of advice there about taming guinea pigs.

sory for asking so many questions but when sould i start to try to taim them by like holding them in my lap sould i wait a few days? because sometimes when i hold them they squeel and are terified? :(

Yes, give them 2-3 days to settle in to their new surroundings. Then start gradually handling them and sit in a playpen with them and let them come to you or wander if they choose. It does take a while with guinea pigs as they are naturally very timid animals, so try to be patient and give them nice veg snacks e.g. carrot, cucumber and green leaves.

THNAK THAT HELPS SO MUCH! i havent been doing the right thing so i wil praboally give them 2 days xtra to seddle in better with out me petting them or anything but ill give them vegies and stuff so they warm up to me does that seem like the right thing to do? then after that i will put tem in the play pen and sit in there with them :), or sould i do something else?

Hehe, no problem, I can almost feel your enthusiasm and excitement :) I'm really glad that you love them so much it sounds like they are going to be very well looked after.

We do a combination of sitting in the play pen and handling them and then just leaving them for a bit with some hay, food and water to get more used to the playpen and have a bit more room to run around. The noises the great to listen to. Plse do some video and let us have a look soon.

I'm sure that's true, ours bury themselves in the fresh hay bedding after a cage clean, to make sure that we can't seen them either ;)

in the playpen you i lay news paper down or something or do you think i sould just let them play on the floor? (and again im sorry i tend to ask alot of questions to make sure my animals are getting the right care) You have been so much help

Yes, we let our play on a tiled or laminated floor with some paper or cardboard down to soak up any wee that they may do.
