But the old format didn't allow them then (Penn State was #1) with the Big 8 / OB tie-in, and they simply got screwed in 2000/2001 by the BCS when the FSU team they'd beaten had the numbers to jump them in the formula and play #1 OK. Would've been 6 or 7 titles instead of 5
@Fultonfalcons86 John McVeigh wore #93. The only former Miami Hurricane I'm aware of who later worked for the WWE was Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who played about five years after this and wore #94.
