Put yet a third way, is it possible for any being to view the world as being "as it should be" without being able to contemplate their own place within it?
I knew someone would say that. ;-) By "meaning", I mean, "Can one feel a sense of purpose and belonging and being right with the world if they don't have full-blown self-awareness?" Like perhaps there's a way of feeling like things are "clicking together just right", but without a sense of self coloring your perception of the picture.
