This is like being in Cartagena, Colombia. Congo: You all have brothers and sisters in colombian atlantic ocean. No matter how many years has passed and no matter the distance, african comunity is just one. I´m Proudly colombian, barranquillera, caribean. I have white and black blood in my veins, but of course the african inside of me makes me move with a caribean rhythm. Blessings!!
This song reminds me of my early days back in Kenya... sippin some tea and chapati in mumias on a Saturday morning, and maybe seeing the Mt. Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds on a good day. Lots of memories.
One of the greatest, prodigious rhythmicists of our time , a great African son whose tunes did and still vibrate through the sacred and beautiful forests, mountains and deserts of great Africa, an African hero whom me as a Zimbabwean take as my own elder, now this is real serious stuff for the ear and mind. Love Congo, love Zim, love Africa.
For info, there has long been appreciation of this music and even a strongpresence of Congolese musicians in Zim bands especially in the 60s and 70s from before case in point being OK Success and Real Sounds.
So it is funny that the likes of BabaBubba display their ignorance of the history of African music and collaborations (which still continue). Long may that healthy respect of other Africans and their cultures continue to be celebrated by whoever and from wherever we may be.
Yes it reminds us of home and I make no apoligies for that. Despite all that has been happening in Zim, ours is a society that believes in exposing people to all cultures that is why we appreciate other people (and their music etc.) and can easily fit ANYWHERE.
Maybe you should learn that rather than the myopia you display.
Good thing that many can see through this distilled ignorance and xenophobia and rubbishes it as it deserves.
how about we all just appreciate good music from a great musician from our continent? It is no wonder the the European colonizers were able to impose their will on almost every country in Africa. we're so divided by stupid shit, we made it easy for them.
Oh man u r enchroaching into politics stop rt there of course Zimbabwe has its own music bt dont take Congolese music as 4 congolese pplo only dat is myopic mind lol.Congoles musicians made more money thru shows in Zim than in their dilapidated country. Ask Kanda bongoman, Lokassa, General Defao de list is endless
Man Congolese music is african music hence it has been loved across de continent since the birth of TPOK JAZZ BAND in 1950s led by the late GREAT FRANCO so dont divide us keep yo selfish intetions to yoself.
so are you saying Zambians, Kenyans, Nigerians, Tanzanians, Cameroonians, Ivorians etc. are not allowed to be reminded of home if they see youtube videos of songs they grew up listening to?
@BabaBubba. oh man u realy hate Zimbabweans that much u seem u hv a score 2 settle here....if u r black/ african u were indoctrnated to hate anything african n u r a disgrace.wel i dont blam u lol i blame de midwif hu brot u on dis planet she shud hve got rid of u on yo first breath.Y do u hate us? we suffered bt we survived n nxt tyme yo totemless pplo wil be nxt u may never know.
The only way my totemless people would follow ur murderous footsteps is by allowing too many Zimbabweans to continue flooding our streets. Corrupt lot u r. Ur sistaz r horrible home wreckers too. They do anything for a few shillings more. I heard 1 in 4 Zimbabweans r HIV +. Wrong?
