yes it really is novus (new). In fact it's a common term used to distinguish the New Rite of the Mass and all of it's folly to the Tridentine Latin Mass and all of it's beauty. Under normal circumstances Orthodox sacraments are valid but illicit to Catholics, and there are some Orthodox who go as far as to say that Catholic sacraments are invalid because they exist outside the visible communion of the Orthodox Church (this is a minority position, but most Orthodox are still not allowed to regularly receive Catholic sacraments).

You're right the Novus Ordo no longer forbids attending the schismatic Eastern Orthodox sect. Sorry I should have said that true Catholicism forbids this. Thanks.

oh come on, the "Novus Ordo" (is it really novus? i was under the impression ordo, ordinis was feminine)isn't that bad. conservatives are regaining control of the church again, and the necessary evil of having mass in the vernacular will at least get a better translation.

yes it really is novus (new). In fact it's a common term used to distinguish the New Rite of the Mass and all of it's folly to the Tridentine Latin Mass and all of it's beauty. And also another fact it was a term used by Paul VI. If you don't like the term, take it up with your heretical friend Benedict XVI since he and the post Vatican II goons commonly used it.

I apologize it took me so long to respond, but I didnt really have access to my account. Why is Benedict XVI a heretic in your opinion? Also, I don't claim to be an expert on Vatican II (still trying to understand Chalcedon and the Hypostatic Union), but as far as I knew it only altered Ecclesial traditions, which (at least in the catechism I read) isn't heresy. Thank you, I hope you had an equally Christ-filled Christmas and a blessed new year.

no it doesnt. The Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox church have an agreement that if ones church is not around they can recieve communion from eachothers churches

You're right, but that's only in cases of extreme emergency. Under normal circumstances Orthodox sacraments are valid but illicit to Catholics, and there are some Orthodox who go as far as to say that Catholic sacraments are invalid because they exist outside the visible communion of the Orthodox Church (this is a minority position, but most Orthodox are still not allowed to regularly receive Catholic sacraments).

@soldier9718 Remember that it was during the passover Seder that Christ instituted the Eucharist, so it was most likely unleavened bread. Although i can understand yeast/risen bread as a symbol of resurrection...

To wms72: The Church Fathers who lived long before the "schism" interpreted the word "rock" as the true Faith confessed by Peter, not Peter himself. The Franks distorted this meaning, however, because they were thirsty for power and wanted to establish their own religious institution. Thus, they fabricated the heresy of the "primacy," which did NOT exist in the early christian life. Because of this and many other heresies incorporated in Papism, the latter is NOT a Church, but a business.

The Orthodox claim they have no heresy, but their heresy = Not believing Christ when He said, "Thou art Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church." The Patriarch believes it, but he can't compel thousands of Orthodox churches to reunite with Rome. That is why Orthodox icons weep the world over. God wants His Church to be One, according to HIS plan. Pray for unity!

I pray to the awesome Trinity, One God, for a renewed and unified TRUE Orthodox Catholic Faith. The are many false doctrines being preached in both east and west churches worldwide. I know the Orthodox Religions to embrace tradition more (as it should be), but the Orthodox, my closest brothers to my Faith, should unite behind the pope, and together, with tradition, spirituality and love we can defend the sheep and beat the wolves back.
