Michael Bruce. You have always ruled! Your music was the soundtrack to my youth in Detroit and beyond. Now I'm a man of the world in so many ways, but I will always cherish the music you made with Vince and the rest of the band, despite his effort s to sideline you in those drunken days way back when.
When you die, die with knowledge that you made so many kids happy while we were stoned to the bone!
I have all the original vinyl of the full AC group, which is clearly what I think of as Alice Cooper and what I listened to growing up. After the split it just wasn't the same and I couldn't get into anything past Welcome to My Nightmare. Got to agree with Silver Hammer on this one!
Yes gotta love the fact that he's wearing an Overkill shirt . If MB is the one who wrote the creepy stuff like "Steven", "Years Ago", "Sick Things", "Halo of Flies" etc... it would be cool to see him write more. I do know that once the original AC lineup split up, AC wasn't much listening to anymore - IMO
I'm quite sure there are some exceptions to this, but I think the Alice Cooper fans of today who side with the singer could not have possibly known the original Alice Cooper Band of the 60's and 70's. That band is very hard to beat with or without Vince doing vocals...but they are best remembered by ME with Michael, Glen, Dennis, Neal, and Alice...Love It To Death, Killer, School's Out, Billion Dollar Babies, Muscle Of Love...the best AC Band EVER! Case Closed. :D Hooo-aaahh!
One can tell this guy was so crucial in the success of early Alice Cooper. He is authentic and full of creativity. However, I dont think Mr.Furnier can be blamed for not wanting to come back to the original band. Im sure he had his reasons and no one could have forced him to reunite. Furnier is a charismatic frontman and does deserve all the applaud he gets.
I really like this song. Michael Bruce is great and I believe highly underrated even among some Alice fans. It's also cool to see him wearing an OverKill tshirt; an underrated New York metal band.
I've noticed that there appear to be two groups of Alice Cooper fans, those who align themselves with the singer Alice Cooper, and almost seem to be at odds with the old band (they tend to align with 'Alice Cooper's Toady, Renfield, who seems to hate Michael) and those who recognize that Alice Cooper is a band and that the other four members were just as important, if not moreso, than the singer.
Hanniball knows! If anyone is into substance more than image than it WAS the players and songwriters in the AC band that mattered MOST and that Vincent guy was only there for show...On with the substance!!
Please get this message to MB. I write for Houston Music News. I heard he is in the area. I would enjoy doing an article on his story or at least meeting him.
Where the hell are you hiding out Mike? You rock dude, I wanna buy ya a beer if I ever meet ya.
