Generally, America promotes the illusion of political integrity so effortlessly. The world on the other hand sees it all from an entirely different view... as in, "Where are the high Christian values being exhibited as a shining example of the finest that America can offer to humanity?" And you folks last came up with George W. Bush...
Pay attention folks!!! It's getting seriously fucked up out here in the real world!
Solly Challie. Did you vote Green, ever, and say IN YOU'RE DISTRICT it didn't really matter? Wake the fuck up. It is always a choice of 2 evils. Grow up and get used 2 it.
I made a small amount ('bout 400$ inn $1 bets) that Adolph would win, even after a leader that brought us prosperity. It is good that you seem young enough to regret throwing your vote to the wind.
Would you prefer a two party system, or a system with dozens of parties that form coalitions for weak reasons? To a great extent, our exclusive system works to bring together our government officials rather than isolating them within more independent parties. Nader,Perot,Thurmond,Roosevelt did us good though, and ran when they we're called for, but we don't need more powerful parties.
Ron Paul only for the Republican party nomination that belongs(presumtively) to McCain.
Ron Paul has more delegate support than the corporate media let on. He will be a force at the Republican National Convention - How could any of them vote for McCain - he truely is unelectable!
Currently McCain has less than 600 BOUND Delegates
In many states his delegates are changing the party platforms and Missouri/Texas will be voting to unbind themselves.
Don't get too excited my friend... his unbound delegates are had chosen to represent him for their loyalty. They are the most vigorous supporters and won't change easily in the slightest.
So you're saying that despite McCain garnering something like 10 million more votes than Paul (who will most likely finish 4th in that category), that Dr. Paul is not only capable of winning the nomination -but somehow entitled to it?
Regardless, this piece is not about Dr. Paul and folks who insist on interjecting him where he is not a matter for discussion do the Representative a great disservice.
The US is a Constitutional Republic(Not a Democracy) - the primary vote is a popularity contest - it has very little real meaning, other than some states bind their delegates to the primary vote. This delegate system helps prevent 6 corporate media companies from controling every election. The uninformed sheeple will vote, but most will not try to become involved and become delegates - I have yet to hear of one reason to vote for McCain over Paul!
There are plenty of reasons. You don't agree with McCain, that doesn't mean there aren't compelling for people to support him.
I'm not sure why your trying to give a primer on Civics- that has nothing to do with anything.
As a Republic, the government is a synthesis of varying points of view -most of which we won't agree with. Ultimately, as Plato says the Republic exists to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority and as Jefferson said if you win by one vote, you win absolutely.
"that doesn't mean there aren't compelling (reasons) for people to support him"
Can you please give me one? Please?
"Republic exists to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority"
Exactly! Just because 10 million sheeple voted for McCain in the Primaries does not mean he is the Republican Nominee, at least not yet - maybe after Sept.
I would prefer a system in which the two dominant parties did not pass restrictive ballot access laws to exclude third parties. I'd prefer that people had lots of choices, instead of two pro-war, big government, anti-civil liberties choices. I'd prefer freedom of thought and action to a media that marginalizes candidates and tries to make our choices for us. I'd prefer to vote for a candidate I can feel good about instead of the lesser of two evils. Is that too much to ask?
No, the media tends to disparage and discount third party and minority candidates, in effect attempting to decide for the people who is worthy of news coverage and worthy of consideration.
Ron Paul IS on the primary ballot, and is still running, but he is NOT featured in this video.
My point is just that both he and Ralph Nader should have been included, and probably could have been the source of really good cartoons. This artist is quite accomplished.
If you think Paul or Nader have a bearing on the content of this video, we failed to be clear in its point.
The subject of this piece has nothing to do with either -even if they were in the running.
Paul has said that he won't bolt the Reps. Unless he flips on his position or spearheads a putsch -he's out. Nader has run several times with diminishing support and 3.5% of the population won't get him in.
This is about the handicaps of these 3 people, not everyone on the ballot.
You are right that Paul will probably no longer be a choice after the GOP convention, but he still is until then.
I also agree that the odds of either of these guys winning the presidency are vanishingly small, but they are still choices.
The artist chose to ignore these two candidates. I wish he hadn't. Furthermore the media effectively squeezes out candidates like Paul and Nader, using the same kind of argument you are using.
What a sorry lot of candidates we have to choose from this Presidential election.
I will NOT vote for Hillary and Bill. I had enough last time. She is not qualified to run this country.
I will NOT vote for Obama and his America Hating Wife. He has WAAAY too much baggage and also is not qualified to run this country. I MAY hold my nose and vote for McCain. He is not qualified to run this country either, but he is the least offensive of the three as far as I am concerned.
Don't vote for the lesser of two evils. Your single vote can't prevent the greater evil. Instead, find a candidate whom you can support with a smile. The reason we have such lousy choices is that people vote for the lesser of evils. I vote Libertarian a lot. I do not care that they do not win. They represent my values better than the others. They send a clearer message to the system. If you vote for McCain, your vote supports ALL of his policies, and says you like his character.
I will wait and watch. The President is just a figurehead anyway. The people surrounding the President, the cabinet, and the Vice President nowadays (more than ever) will certainly affect my decision.
I am reading now about the Constitution Party with Alan Keyes, and John Corsi, and maybe Ron Paul. I will read about the Save America summit next I think.

The Clintons have as much to do with the situation we're in as Cheney, Bush and the neocons.
1. Your government has to stop shooting innocent people... admit the lie and stop making war!
2. Stop spying on each other! You have the best constitution in history and you're allowing your leader to use it for ass-wipe.
3. Stop over-consuming... you're fucking up the planet at a major pace and we don't have anywhere else to go yet.
Thank you!

Who is preventing you from voting for the guy you support?
Isn't Paul on the ballot?
Gravel, running Libertarian, will be on the ballot.
Who is stopping you from voting for them?
You may not like it, I may not like it -but the vast majority of people actually support the policies of the Republicrats.
Your views aren't being silenced, they're just a small minority.
Our 2 parties are composed of dozens of coalitions- in most countries these coalitions are formed after the election.
