It was relly cool.... but he wasnt doing it naturally cuz u can see his layout under the original brown....so it was kinda like a paint by number and shading...but still it's was done really well.

Hmmm. Well, since the masters all did it exactly the same way, meaning that they sketch something out on the canvas or ceiling or wall, and then "fill in" the painted areas, I would suggest that he is probably doing it the right way :-)

you can do this too

its real simple, first get an image, then using a projector, project it at an angle, then paint the distorted image onto whatever surface you like, u will find that it's not hard at all, UNLESS you can't draw or use colours or shade, then that will be a problem

It is actually cooler than that. Many other artists might use a projector, but Kurt makes freehand drawings before hand and then enlarges them without any mechanical or computer aid.

if you do them enough, u will get use to it too , trust me, i did it before without projector , but IF someone who doesn't know how to make it, i just give this advice, I still kinda like julian beever stuff more cause its kinda witty

@timofly I know this is a really old post, but I just thought I'd reply anyway. I just wanted to say that if you use the projection way, you don't need to have any drawing skill whatsoever, as you're just tracing someone else's picture. It's cheating is what it is.

Kurt did this art for Microsoft X-Games, Gears of War. I think the music is from the game. I will check and find out for you.
