Wrist has a slight angle that more or less matches the angle at address; clubface is dead on plane with the left forearm. I like it. Ogilvy's kind of a throwback in a good way, a guy who really knows how to release his hands and forearms well and hit it a lot farther and higher than his effort would seem to indicate.
yeah but some years ago i used imitate his swing and but i hardly could hit even 100 yards with my 9 iron ........
see its just his hands taking the club back and forth and no initial movement from the ground up like say Tiger Woods then from where does he gets his power??????his swing is so simple one plane just back and then forward but yoy can't get the power just hands?but also he swings so smoothly whats the key that tiger has to make efforts with his body and muscles while Ogily doesn't?
It's not that Tiger "has to"; it's just his instinct to go at it more forcefully. Works for him. Ogilvy does move from the ground up, but much more subtly. Frankly, a lot of the "muscle-up" look from power players is wasted effort; the club weighs what, a pound? And the ball less than two ounces? It's the swinging motion of the club, the path and angle of approach, and the speed that matters. When Els stretches a little, he hits it about as long as TW, with a totally different look.
