  • whenever i see nuns, plain clothes or otherwise, on the street, i cannot help wondering how many asses they spanked when they were younger. when you hear of a retired school marm being murdererd, you know she must have terorised that poor person who murdered her. THEY ARE GETTIING THEIR JUST REWARDS FOR THEIR SINS, NUNS, MONKS, LAY TEACHERS and all the other bastards out there. FUCK THEM ALL.

  • @squirell1952 God bless you. TruthLeaker, time to take our the garbage!

  • this is freak!!!

  • Heh, look at em juggle! Being a monk must be calling to be sure--but having a sense of humor is ok by God's light as well--these monks have it. Glad there is bit of bending so to speak.

  • Vow of silence :)

  • why everybody bald there?? and the video become mute. Coffe product is the one i really like in this video. But birthday party for a priest at Indonesian seminary with people went to mosque as dress code i think better than your circle party there.

  • b.s

  • i was waiting for someone to get up and do a little soft shoe routine

  • Beautiful lean young men with firm flanks and full loins!

  • I wonder if they allow visitors in their monastery?

  • @Larzuthul I was gonna visit them 2 years ago... but couldn't :/ Try the contact info on their page (look up Carmelite Monks on Google)

  • This group seems to be more interested in building a huge new - but decidedly ancient-looking - minastery in the wilds of Wyoming...and of COURSE the silly bishop of Wyoming is giving them permission or whatever...there are currently ten Catholics in the whole miserable RepubliKlan state !

  • @Plowhandle eh. So what? I second Polemeros, what's the damage with you two guys? Monks pray, it doesn't matter where they are.

  • @J1Militans This group of pretend "monks" are no better than the Legionaries of Christ that continue to prey upon simple-minded bishops that aren't aware of that "order's" writing their own catechism books - all containing their pedophile founder Marcel Maciel's strange twists on what is real and what is HIS take on what is real. One is still operating in the Archdiocese of Chicago - Limpin' Cardinal George is still thinking the Legionaries are harmless ! Pretend 'Monks' ? No thanx

  • @Plowhandle Wow, talk about being Catholic: where is thy charity?

  • @Plowhandle

Excuse me? On what basis do you refer to these holy men as "pretend monks"? This is a genuine order of Carmelite monks, approved by the Holy See and recognized by their local Bishop. Who are *you* to say otherwise?

  • @zhiracco. Dude, what is your damage? If u knew Carmelite history, you'd know they began as hermit monks in medieval Palestine. Read the Rule of St Albert. They later became mendicants in Europe. What's with the nasty attitude?

  • my desire...

  • I am happy they are there in Wyoming and wish them well. The Mystical Coffee is quite clever. They are prayerful and seem like nice guys with shaved heads and candles. The only problem is

they are not Carmelites and this is very misleading. There are many groups like this that are the new "real deal" . Call them whatever you want. They are not Carmelites.

Good imitators. Protestants call themselves Church too.

  • @zhiracco

Yes they *are* Carmelites. Their order is approved by the Holy See and they are indeed of the Carmelite monastic model. In fact, I'd say they're even more Carmelite than the majority of other Carmelite orders since they use both the true Carmelite Divine Office *and* the Carmelite Rite of Mass.

  • I think you are mistaken about these "carmelite monks". It is a very common error. They are CINOs. Carmelites in name only. If you read any of the constitutions of the Discalced Carmelites or the O.Carm's (the real traditional orders) you will find that carmelites are always mendicant, never monastics. They draw support off the "carmelite" name, primarily from people who dont know any better and yet live more like cloistered nuns. A true mystic would shun such banality.

  • @zhiracco I would not go as far as to say CINO, as the Bishop of Wyoming is in authority of them. Look up Monks of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel on Wikipedia. You're right, they are not friars (mendicant/contemplative), but monks. It's a new order imitating the old hermits. PaX

  • Good grief, Charlie Brown, we need sound. Do this over asap.

  • obviouslly taken the vow of silence

  • @mrmagicroundcircle HAHAHA!

  • use this link for audio

    youtube (dot) com/watch?v=7iJis9afQ9k&feature=related

  • Its funny . Different traditions. In the east the Orthodox monastics don't cut their hair or shave. Almost a Nazerite oath. And in the west the monastics look likethe people in return to planet of the apes who worshiped the atomic missel .

  • These guys make fantastic coffee. If there is coffee in Heaven, and I pray to God the Father Almighty that there is, then it tastes just like Mystic Monk Cherry Chocolate.

  • Small point - big difference they are friars not monks

  • @terencegodfrey these ones are monks. You may be talking about the discalced Carmelites, who are completative friars

  • @terencegodfrey Can you explain the difference? Thank you.

  • @terencegodfrey Agreed

  • I wanna become a monk too :)

  • I had the same issue when uploading the .mov fie. It has something to do with the audio codec that it uses. You need to encode into another format or re-encode using a different audio codec. As soon as I can get my hands on a good free converter I will give it another try.

  • The singing is beautiful You only hear it a a few spots in the video, but visiting the monastery's website to listen might be worth your while. It might make you want to order a CD!

  • where can i find the link with audio? thanks....

  • In the read more: carmelitemonks--dot--org

  • @quorban Hello, put this title on youtube's search: Carmelite Monks of Wyoming by larbet

  • I read one scripture that made me want to look into joining a Monastery "Narrow is the gate" Matthew 6:13

Because wide "There are many who go in by it" meaning the population (Course of this world) I indeed need to isolate my self to seek God along with others who are doing the same, It's hard here in NewYork! Where can I go? Can anyone Help me?

  • I used to live in NYC so I know how you must feel. My advice would be to find a parish that has Eucharistic Adoration and spend some time with Our Lord. If they do not have this then you shoudl at least be able to spend time in the santuary or chapel before the Tabernacle. Listen to Him. It will be hard at first but He will give you the grace to hear His voice over the noise.

  • A vocation to the monastary is good and holy but you do not necessarily need the world to be silent you just need to know which sounds to listen to.

If you wish I can email you the name of a good and holy priest who may be able to help you.

  • Thank so much, you're right (I should focus on holy things, and not be distracted by the idle babbling & worldly things) It's hard to focus, but I will try my hardest. Lord knows If I tried my best. Thanx again

  • They've got the CFRs in NY. I went through the same thing before I graduated from High School. You could contact the diocese and ask for the Vocations Director, even if you're not discerning, and ask him for retreats in nearby monasteries or the Seminary. That will open tons of doors, but most importantly, will open up your heart more. God bless!

  • on the surface this group looks very inspiring. There is such a need in the Church for balanced austerity and spiritual depth, especially if it is built upon such doctors as teresa and John. But reading their website, the constant busy emphasis upon Mary as Queen, the fevered narrative of the site, it raises questions about what is really going on. I hope it isnt yet another faux tridentinist cult that seem to be typifying so many so called reform movements lately. We need so much more.

  • In their site they got the note of fidelity to the Church. You can check it out :)

  • yes, all the new movements have this note of fidelity. Thats sort of my point. The note of fidelity to what? A very particular notion of a remnant church.

  • @mustardbush fidelity to the magisterium... isn't that what the website says? I haven't check in a while

  • On their website the voice over emphasizes wanting to attract "manly men". What is that about? Gangsters? tough guys? Guys who dont think too much? Seems an unnecessary and confusing requirement, as if Grace discriminates between "manly" and "unmanly" men. Could someone from the community explain this odd requirement?

  • It means no poofters or closet faggots allowed. Guess that keeps you out.hahaha

  • I guess you are symptomatic of the new cults masquerading as Christian communities eh? why should people be surprised that Catholicism is vanishing so fast throughout the Western world when people like you typify it.

  • it isn't. It takes a real man/woman to give up a life of contact to the outside world for a life of personal holiness.

  • well it takes a person of great humility and integrity to be open to being transformed by Grace whether in a closed community such as this or otherwise. Grace knows no such boundaries. But the wording of 'manly" is strange, unnecessary, and indicates an agenda in regards to what the superior there regards as masculine. Some may look and listen to him and find a lack of the 'manly' virtue he is spruiking. But is he any less holy for that lack?

  • and it is vanishing. What the current turn to rather reactionary forms of religious life indicates is the very thing that Pope John XXIII was so concerned about, hence the need for Vatican II: we now being museum custodians. Look for yourself at the rapid decline in Catholicism throughout Europe and the US. In Soth America too. The new models of retreat and remant are rapidly accelerating this decline.

  • Well, Catholicism was illegal back when Nero and the others killed Christians for a living. If it didn't die then, why now?

  • Well, strictly speaking that period was at best proto-Catholicism. Christianity at that time was much more diverse than just the codified form which would take place under Constantine and theron. The problem now is that the early Church Fathers saw the need to engage with the thought and themes of the culture. Now Catholicsm is in retreat, unable to engage with contemporary thought. It has become a remnant church in opposition. Much too long a process to explore in this small post.

  • btw, it was from AD 33, when Christ was crucified, until AD 314, when Christianity was made legal. Around 281 years of brutal persecution, thousands of death.

Or think of Hitler and his war against the Church and the thousands of priests and Catholics/Christians killed. Why would it die now if not then...?

  • Hitler's main tarhet wasnt Catholicism. Most Catholics happily sided with his agenda, look at how Croatia was a willing ally for example. Jews, gays and Communists were more the target. Hitler himself was Catholic.Christianity and Catholicsm in particular has flourished of times opposition. Now is a time of indifference. That is very new for Catholicism to engage with. By turning in on itself so to rest on old certainties and rigid practices and thought cannot break through massive indifference.

  • @mustardbush There is much in the past that Catholics should have done just like there was for all of God's children. but much good--& we must remember this. Hitler obviously did not live up to the Church's tenets. If he had gone to mass every Sunday, he would not have committed what he did. The church is , indeed, going through much indifference--and Benedict is not doing the right thing--like pharoah, he is 'hardening his heart' against his flock--he is reactionary. Not good.

  • @windstorm1000 . You could not be further from the truth.

  • brew coffee eh? :D

  • Weird, my best friend when i was a kid and his little brother are both there.

  • Carmelite monks many of them have the gift of words of knowledge and words of wisdom and the gift of prophesying.

Carmelites are bringing back the manifestations of the holy spirit into the Catholic church.

  • love this carmelite brothers!

keep the faith and the tradition..

Praised be Jesus Christ and God bless you!

  • Curious as to the origin of this specific "monastic" group. As the Carmelites were historically part of a medicant movement of friars, I'm wondering where the monastic piece came in and whether the monks are part of a province under the authority of the Carmelite Prior General in Rome or whether they make vows to the local ordinary. Also, what's with wearing the scapular over the capuce?

  • Thank you!

  • Yes, I tried last night but YouTube didn't let me. Also, for some reason the video fle is corrupted, so when I upload it doesn't have sound.

They have the actual video at their website.

See the Info. to the right.

  • this is off topic of what ur talking about but have u heard of or seen the carmelite sisters?

  • @camilogs77 At: Carmelites Monks of Wyoming by larbet

  • @camilogs77 or add to the name (NO SOUND!) ;p

what's the address link? (or the part after .com/)

  • @J1Militans How can I put the address link? May you tell me the way? Thanks.

  • @camilogs77 sure thing! like so, /watch?v=GRPNwDTef9g after .com

but looking back at comments, someone else posted a link too

  • @J1Militans ah! video was taken down in the other link :/

  • Comment removed

  • @J1Militans It seems like no outside links but inside links of the video are allowed, because I've tried several times without any result ...Maybe I am wrong or it is only the owner who can put links and things like that , for example there is an apology at the begining ,,,,I think, he could put the link inside the video as the same as the apology and everybody will access immidiately to the right video by clicking on the link. . (sorry for my english) God Bless

  • Could you provide some info about this monastery? Name? Location?
