i bought the burton custom ics 08-09 snowboard with the est cartel bindings and the board came with no mounting hardware. but the manual for the bindings said that it came with bindings. what do i do?
Burton also created the 3D hole pattern WAY before the rest of the industry created the 4 hole pattern and other companies are making ICS converter discs as Burton doesn't want to limit your options (we have the Flux ones in right now). However to experience the huge performance upgrade you really have to use it with an EST binding!
Many other companies have used track systems before Burton (Capita and Forum to name a couple). The ICS/EST combo is a HUGE leap forward in performance (better board feel, better board flex, easier stance adjustment, interchangeable dampening, reduced weight...ect.) and could not be achieved with a tradition hole pattern. EVERY Burton ICS board ships with a converter disc to be used with ANY older Burton binding.
This is just another attempt by Burton to not allow riders to use bindings made by other companies. We must stand together and stop Burton from pulling this shit. Remember what being a snowboarder is all about freedom. Yea good luck finding a disc for older bindings. Think people don't be a tool
What you don't realize is Burton is not only stepping up the technology for the progression of snowboarding but they are in fact trying to work with other companies to make discs so other bindings can be used. If you have older bindings why wouldn't you take this opportunity to go and get new ones that will increase you're board feel and flex... quit hatin, if you don't want to use the newest and most advanced stuff in our sport that's on you but don't go bashing Burton for new and improved tech

Is the ICS and EST system the same thing or? (if you answer me in a pm so i will see it) ty

@siggistud The ICS is the Channel technology on the boards. The EST is the technology on the bindings that attaches to the ICS boards.

can I put any binding on this board or does it have to be an EST ?
iamaskater1221 2 years ago
any ICS board should come with a disk that allows you to mount any kind of 4-hole binding onto it
so chill, you don't need to buy new bindings *unless you want new bindings :P*
CalluW 2 years ago
Must be EST
HeavenlyKiller 2 years ago
Those 2 black disc looking things in front of the board...can someone explain what those are and what they do?
Emil308 3 years ago
Those are probably disks, which comes with ICS board, which allows you to use regular bindings with ICS board.
neafel 3 years ago
they slide out of the bindings so you can adjust the angle
Telestrat216 2 years ago
they position the board...you're supposed to screw it on top of the bindings when you're done adjusting them
drippinblood28 2 years ago
those are for adapt any binding to an ics board
