I love singing from hymnals! when I was a kid, I was always distressed that I didn't like contemporary christian music (Christian rock and rap). When I started worshiping with the Lutherans, I discovered a whole style of worship. Hymnals are so communal. I say this not to emphasize denominational affiliation but to express my relief to find that their is a worship style that meets my eccentricities. First and foremost it is about glorifying the lord and not serving our own ego's, though.
