Funny I read this now I saw an Avatar making of earlier this evening & the camera tech Cameron developed is amazing - peter jackson had an early version of it on rings but Cameron & weta advanced it so much that they can point at the actors playing the avatars & the camera shows the cgi version in real time with cg backgrounds in camera - it hit me later that the tech would improve on the transformers performances if the actors had motion capture suits that limit movements the bots cant do

Yeah Transformers (if this is a reply to me - not sure) - I think the motion capture used on Lord of the rings, king kong & the facial capture & interactive cgi performance of avatar would be great for Transformers 3 (Transformers 3D mabey?). The thing is it would have to be mixed with a lot of key frame animation. Because of the angular design of the bots if an actor moved his arm the cg robot parts of the arm might intersect the bots body so an actor would need a suit that limits movements

who voiced soundwave & Starscream - Chris Latta was Starscream I believe (I love starscreams voice - the new starscream is shit - great transform but a crap robot). I guess Soundwavewas voiced by Welker as it was a deeper voice but mabey not. I hate the movie Ironhide - Why not use Cullen's voice - dumb decision (I think he wasthe original Ironhide). Anyway as ironhide would have said in a Texan accent:"That just roasts my rump!" (I love that)

@skylandmountain Yup, Welker was the original Soundwave (doing his "Doctor Claw" voice then layered with an effect). I actually enjoyed TF Animated as much as I disliked the "live" movie, but in that it really annoyed me they didn't get Cullen to voice Ironhide there, either (especially since they deliberately chose a "younger" Prime). His Ironhide voice rocks! :D

@skylandmountain Latta was Starscream (the most memorable cartoon voice ever, IMO)... other TF series and projects since have had some nice "soundalikes" (more as a homage), but the live movie version... not so much. Then again, for me the whole movie was not really TFs... a bunch of impressive but confusing Mechano sets flashing about and fighting amid a teen comedy mixed with an ID4 style disaster movie. TF, for me, should be about... well... Transformers! :)

This guy is the "KING" of voice acting..... one of the most hard-working and most recognizable voice actors out there in the biz.... you don't get much more famous than becoming a living legend like him. A very down to earth, you can't help but geek out a bit when you see him in person. A whole generation grew up listening to his voice work during the 80's and 90's, and I'm proud to be one of them. Peter Cullen and Stan Bush, they got "THE TOUCH"!
