While it's true that Northern Virginia is more sophisticated, educated, and liberal, one could argue the same about any state and it's pocketed areas. What a ditz she is. I understand what she was trying to say. Politically, the Northern Virgina region is heavily influenced by DC politics and not reflective of the state as a whole. A similar analogue would be Chicago's influence on Indiana. Certainly not reflective of the whole state, you might refer to the rest of the state as "Real Indiana", meaning that it isn't dominated by external influences. Probably a poor choice of words regardless.

Im born, raised and still live in VA...fuck this bitch. I live 20 minutes from oakton and shes welcome to drive over and take a look at the real VA.

The truth is...Northern VA is one of the most affluent and educated areas in the country. The reason VA is swinging is because of South Eastern VA/VA Beach area.

Then youve got South Western VA...Jerry Fallwell/Lynchburg. The most uneducated and economically unsound parts of VA are what she calls "the real virginia"

Besides the fact that Lynchburg is not SW Virginia (look at a map), SW VA is economically unsound because politicians have forgotten about that part of the state - except Mark Warner and that's why he has a 30 point lead for the Senate over his Republican counterpart. That part isn't as uneducated as it is just neglected. It will be important to gain votes for Obama.

Dividing a state through ignorance doesn't make you seem like you're from "one of the most ... educated area in the country."

I wasnt arguing why parts of VA were economically unsound. furthermore i meant south western va to lynchburg. lynchburg is not far from charlottesville. Charlottesville is a great area. A lot of UVA students graduate and remain there, which helps.

But Charlottesville is an "island." Anything west of richmond is uneducated and in economic trouble in comparison to the rest of the state. You say neglect, i call it ignorance of the citizenry that have voted against their own interests for years.
