@koreywitaK I disagree. We are to be one flesh with our spouses. Fornication can cause one to be one in body with another, but that does not mean it is always marriage. Sometimes it is fornication or adultery. In the Old Testament, if a man took a girl's virginity, he was required to pay the bride price and marry her if the girl's father would let him, but that doesn't mean they were married. The father could say 'no.' I agree that pastors did not officiate over weddings in the Bible.
@koreywitaK That passage is a good example of what I am talking about. She had had five husbands. The man she was 'with' at that time was not her husband. I take this to mean she was shacking up to someone who she was not married to. Maybe she didn't have a bill of divorce from her last husband or she was just sleeping with the guy who had not agreed to take her as a wife.
@SaudaraLink Better yet Stay in Matt 19 and just break down verses 10-12 when Christ said some men cant get married because there eunuchs. What does being a Eunuch have to do with getting married? Marriage is just sex. Look up the word Eunuch Shalom
@koreywitaK He doesn't explicitly say that about eunuch's. The OT required husbands to give wives food, clothing, and sex. Sex is certainly an aspect of marriage that would prevent eunuchs from getting marriage. But that doesn't mean all sex is marriage or results in marriage. Some sex is adultery. @ronyen777 There is a passage about seduction, we might call it, where if a man takes an unbetrothed virgin's virginity, he has to pay the bride price for virgins, and the father of the girl decides whether or not to give her to him in marriage. I assume the father had the same right in cases of rape.

From here brother we have an interesting concept in Moses Law: In order for an Israeli girl to be married to an isareli man she must be "engaged first". The engagement was a covenant where the father of the virgen would give her daughter to a man to be his wife and also to PAY her father for it.

@coolspindrift I saw her but she have an agenda and only pushes her(and those behind her) twisted concepsts to christian women but not to jewish and muslims. Theres an organization behind her that like any other religion targets only christians(especially on women) question is :what they looking for with these videos? think about it .
