  • Spock.

  • Sorry about the gf....;(

  • @badmephisto what cube do u use

  • Comment removed

  • tnx man!!

  • @TheMulticuber He solves in about 17 seconds

  • Your GF dumped you, if you turn gay i will go out with you?

  • what cube does he have?

  • I'm left handed so I have to turn every algorithm I see into its mirror and then see what it does so U and L are quick for me

  • i think i can safely say i will be watching this video quite often and frequently!

  • f prime r... weeeeeeeeeee :P

  • i agree with eric11600

  • btw.. instead of L F' L one can also do r U' r' (to insert a bad edge from top left to front bottom)

  • l U' l' fascinated me! :)

  • show your face!!!!

  • its actually helpful. if u cant double flick with ur pinky on the bottom u can also use ur middle finger

  • mmmmm. milk.

  • how old r u

  • @badmephisto

do i have to replace my Rubiks storebought cube if it is VERY stiff? btw, what's your cube?

  • thank you!!! thery helpfull

  • great joke in the beginning

  • what do you mean by "prime" or R"2"

  • @janpsing By "prime" he means turning the face anti-clockwise Example: R' (R prime) turning the right face anticlockwise.

By R2 he means turning the Right face 2 times

  • @janpsing htt p://solvethecube.110mb.com/notation.html

  • keeping clicking at 5:41

  • Good Shit, Sir. Very helpful.

  • lol at 6:40 he refills his glass of milk. Cube fuel.

  • could you give the algorithms next to a diagram on your website like your OLLs and PLLs?

  • YOU LIVE IN CANADA?

    YAYAYAYAY

    DUDE

    CANADA'S THE PLACE TO BE

  • can i ask how your cubes turn so amazing? i am looking for something good

  • Best cube instructor on youtube. Thanks for the vids, man. Keep em coming.

  • slippery cube.. Cool.

  • Dude pls check out my Hitler/parody/homage. "Hitler & the rubix cube"

  • Notice the glass on the table...First there is no glass. Then filled with water and then finishes it. Then filled with milk and finishes it at end of video..haha

  • 8:30 there's an easier way to solve this case (at least for me) I would have done:

    R' F R3 (performed as R and l2 at the same time) U' l'

  • @WastedMeerkat1 R3? Really?

  • @uyneb2000 Yes, really. It makes a much more fluid movement in some cases. It has limited use, but it sometimes comes in handy.

  • @WastedMeerkat1 Oh got ya. Just never heard of R3

  • You have an amazing cube!

Can you tell us which one it is? If I try to go that fast, my cube always pops...

  • @5i1v3rStorm that was diyTypeA 1 the original but he uses fii now its a great beginner to advanced cube or you can try Alpha 5 they r both great. F2 is smooth a5 if crispy both cut corners well i sugest you get both

  • @5i1v3rStorm np

  • @filipemtx

If you need to turn more accurately get a cue that doesn't cut and locks a lot. Like a store-bought Rubik's. I have a modded A-V and it cuts pretty much anything you give it so I get lazy sometimes. That's when i use my crappy rubik's to practice accuracy. They're also hard to turn so it can build finger strength sort of.

  • I can't do the R' F R fingertrick accurately.

My cube is a brand new C4U type CII NIB. The cube is just too fast, and I'm afraid to break it. But I can do (L' U' L U)6 slightly fast. I just can't do fingertricks where the face get misaligned the bad way. How can I turn with more accuracy?

  • Perfect video... like allways. Thanks for sharing.

    Thumb up and favorite.

  • Genuis video as always. Too bad you had a break making them =) Would love to see some more vids from you. Alltho I have no idea about what since I can't imagen you have missed out something other than 4x4 whish imo is useless.

Maybe a vid of how to just move layers the more effective way, I mean, you are fast than the speed of light 0.o

  • for the case at 5:45 R2,B,R2

i do the B with my thumb

  • my brother called me a nerd and started laughing. i said being a nerd is better than being a druggie and shut up and walked out of my room....i laughec

  • it it better to make cross Lookahead too?

  • Hey Great video! Helped me alot. Thanks. Your cube looks to turn very good what kind of cube is it?

  • I'm getting better at my cross intuition with uws still my times are slower but it's good relearning the cross on the bottom

  • do you lubricate your cube? because i cant rotate it that easy

  • isnt it bad to be inconsistent in cubing?

  • I love it "the girl dumped me so I guess I'm back to cubing" lol. Well, I have a girlfriend and I'm into cubing, I really like the v cubes and she asked me if the V stands for "Virgin" LOL

  • i would the case @ 5:00 with U2,R,F',L2

  • Man, Great videos! I like your tutorials alot, they're really easy to follow, but i've got one non-cube related question. Where are you from?

  • great intro. had me laughing me a bit

  • how long have you been cubing?

  • lol

  • another thinkg ive foung to take out cube rotations and unnesecary Us in the F2L is uing some wierd insertions. for example, instead of using R U' R to insert a pair, i try to use l F' l'. it saves a regrip

  • The beginning was hilarious!

  • thanks dude! this tricks did make my times a few seconds better! thanks dude! 5*

  • nice start of the tutorial :)

  • You've got a great voice for this kind of instruction. It helped me follow you better than the other 3 fingertip cross vids I just finished watching. I was given a rubiks cube for my 60th birthday. It took me a few weeks to learn it (using youtube) but I'm stuck at an average of 55-75 sec.

This video will help me get off to a quicker start! Thanks. I am also doing the 4x4. I'm stuck with an average of 3m40 to 4m. I'll order a 5x5 soon.

  • @ejackson21st ... wow 60th birthday? :) Why thank you I'm very flattered sir :)

  • What's the Best Lubrication?? New Cuber From Philippines. Thnx Sir badMephisto.

  • you have to ask your Philippino friends in there... I don't know what they sell down there. Up here in Canada JigALoo works well for me

  • @badmephisto

Canada? Yay we have one of the best cubers in our country =D

  • @badmephisto hmm, pretty curious that we use a kind of hair-jelly here in Indonesia..

  • @jayrome23cobre there are a lot of cyclo silicone spray in hardwares,..

  • lol! glad you noticed! : )

  • Mephisto ftw^^

    nice tricks

  • I love that silent cube, which type is it?

  • bl on the girl bro

  • Comment removed

  • your video helped me decrease my timer by 5 seconds thx man!!!!!!!!!!!

  • your girlfriend must be a dumbass to dump an awsome person like you

  • hahaha! thank you :) that is what I tell myself when I'm feeling down and obsess about it

  • @badmephisto I've experienced the same and it sucks, I just tell myself life goes on and it surprisingly works very well!! I just found it funny how you said "I guess I'm back to cubing!" :D

  • Nice tutorial! Great tips!

  • LOL! this was funny. ur girlfren dumped u? aww

  • she did. it hurt. but it was a long time ago :)

    haha

  • ohh. imm reli sryy. hope u're alright now =)

  • how can a girl ever dump u? you have such charming english and a very nice voice

  • "guess im back to cubing" omg never loled as much before!

  • HAHA XD i love the "wiee" at 5:42

  • humm, damn player. look at 5:40 instead :p

  • Great vids.

I love them all but am struggling practicing/learning F2l, it's quite a challenge.

But nice vids, Keep them coming.

  • lol at the sipping part 9:37... I thought it was a snor at first xD

  • lol i thought he was about to sneeze :P

  • ahahaha and the girl dumped me

  • im new to this and im also in a wheelchair. my right hand as never worked very well so i solve onehanded on top of a surface of some type i was averaging like 7 minute solves but thanx to ur F2L videos i got my first sub 4 solve =)

  • got any tips for the inspection? i've seen people do it but i have no idea wth they're lookin at.

  • yes. watch my Advanced Cross video. Its on the front page of my channel

  • Hi, great video. I have some questions. Sometimes during the pre-inspection, i see some already paired pieces but then i split them while doing the cross. should i try to preserve them?

Also, while doing the cross sometimes pairs form by accident and i slot them in the wrong place, it seems to me that trying to be too fast doing finger tricks sometimes penalize you. (actually in your 3:34 example you had a case like this).

  • ...if you can find a way to preserve them, do. I usually dont bother, and when I try, it doesnt work out too well for me because it slows me down. Thinking is a bad thing during solves :) you want to be in automatic mode

  • 6:39 !!! amazing!! your water changed into milk!!!

  • mmmmm Milk!!!

  • I love your videos!

  • how can u have 'kind of' a girl friend...?

i mean.....was she ur girlfriend part time?

    haha just kiddin!

lol im having my exams now....only got 3 left though=)

  • umm...i still cant solve the cross on the bottom as fast as i can solve it on top...

i solve it on top...then use f2l(fridrich) then 2 look oll and then pll (i currently know 18 out of 21)

my average is around 38 seconds....

but i know if i could solve the cross on the bottom....it wud be better.....but i cant...=((

help will be greatly appreciated =)

  • Cross on bottom is overrated. It's a nice thing to learn, but won't speed you up that much. Erik Akkersdijk solves the cross on top. Focus on learning all your plls and olls, and practice f2l a lot. You'll get a ton faster.

  • his record had a pll skip making it a lucky solve. Yu nakajima the number 2 in the world's record wasnt lucky with a cross on the bottom

  • hi i was wondering if you would do a video on recognizing oll algorithms ; good video

  • :O recognizing OLL's ? lol I don't know what I would say :D Look at the top? Its not like in PLL where your information intake is limited in some way, since things are behind in the back and doing U/U'/U2 moves can cost you a lot...

  • End of video: "Blaaaaargh!!!" lmao. Too many finger tricks. :P

  • 2000th view :)

So glad your back, thank you

  • What kind of cube do you have?

  • DIY type A

  • im so glad you made this i think it might be the key for finally making me break the 25 second average barrier, but then again it also might be cuz I haven't learned all the olls XD

  • I broke sub-20 and am currently learning OLLs. My cross is crap.

  • The intro (exams and gf) = hifrigginlarious

  • 4:22 is very useful, I usually come across this case every few solves where I only have one edge left to solve and it takes me more than a second to do.

  • Finally a new video :]].

  • Very nice to have you back in the art of cube movies!

I have two evil cross cases and I wonder if you solve them the same way as:

    setup: F2 R F R`

    solve. x R U´ R´ U2

    setup: F´R U2 F´ U´

    SOLVE: U F U2 R´ F

Thanks again for a nice vid!

    Mattias / Sweden!

  • XD all of us are more worried about his personal life than the content of the video :P

  • I KNOW what the hell! But this may not be that bad after all-- watch, sooner or later there will be a fan with a hot single sister. LOL

  • So was that water you were drinking? Have you been keeping up with your salad intake?

  • haha, "RL stuff"

  • RL? Help me out here, please.

  • "real life"

  • welcome back meph. missed the vids.

  • maybe some more OH cubing techniques or some solves! I LOVE THOSE SPEED CUBING SOLVES! and maybe reviews on cubes.

  • What kind of Cube do you use for your tutorials?

  • DIY Type A.

  • haha end with the girl thing?

did u broke up with ur gf??? lol

  • finally your back! GO BADMEPHISTO

  • where would you like me to go ? :D

  • oh and maybe a cube collection vid

  • It's awesome to see you back, man. You give pretty much the best tutorials on speed cubing that I've seen on YouTube. You've cut my time in half. 1:00 to 30s isn't that impressive, but since I've watched your stuff I've been seeing improvements much more frequently.

  • Best tutorials Of Solving Cubes In Youtube !! - badmephisto !!

    Copy this >__>

  • oh stop it! i'm blushing...

  • oh crap haven't touched my cube in months (wow that came out wrong..)

  • For the 'flipped edge' case I use F'RUR'F2 or sometimes y z U R'w U Rw (left cross ftw). I dislike D turns :(

  • i like the first one. second one: "y z..." eww

  • LOL, sorry about the girl =( but I guess that's life...

I kept looking at that GO F2L pair like *That need to be solved...*

My crosses are horrible (by my standards...)

    Good luck making future videos!

  • yay u r back

  • F' R wee

  • for the first case, you should have done L' R' F R2 U L2....the premove L' put the red on the U layer.

  • obviously i know. i just wanted to demonstrate both cases on a single cube.

  • Ah, I see ;)

  • weeee

  • hah the exams are done and the girlfriend dumped you...sorry dude...but on the positive side you get to make more amazing videos for us <3

  • rofl. cubing is like drinking for you. You finish your exams and the girl dumps you and BAM....back to cubing every night

  • haha

  • yay new vid

  • you rock, thanks again

  • this taught me a few tricks :) glad to see you back!

and i'm sorry to hear about your now-ex-gf :(

  • that was not the point. i wanted to show the two solutions separately

  • hey, i bet if you start useing a cube 4 you diy instead of the type a youll get faster

    I did!! BY 30 SECONDS!!!

    rofl

  • nice video could you do one on the oll

  • Oh gosh I'm sorry about the GF -- you sound so sad :( I still have to say, great video, really helped me (yet again!!)

Hope to see you at another Toronto competition soon, gotta beat ya at some more Team BLD XD

  • lol thanks-- and thanks for the condolences :D

that team bld was such a disaster :D kinda funny though

  • JUST PRACTICE!! -- Justin and I have to learn some "communication techniques", but otherwise, bring the same guy and we'll rematch! ^^

  • Heck yeah. You're going down. :D

Are you going to come to the next competition?

  • Ahw... I'm sorry your girlfriend broke up with you...

  • You are the best! Thx!

  • what cubes do yuo use

  • he uses black diy type A, i use the same one :D

  • C4Y DIY speedcubes own more than type A

  • And you sound sad through out the vid.. D:

  • Where do you get all these tips and finger tricks from? You're good...

What 3x3 cube are you using?

  • how much do you average now??? PLEASE ANSWER THIS COMMENT! :(

  • I answered the comment.

  • lol you didnt answer what your average is on the 3x3 :(

  • I'm glad you're making vids again :D

I have been watching your vids for about 3 weeks (averaging about 1 minute 30 seconds, but anyways) and have been contemplating whether to subscribe or not. Now that you're making more vids, I'll subscribe :)

    Thanks

  • subscribers++ ? lol, thanks

  • YAYAY! Badmephisto is back! Woot.

  • BTW, is that a Saitek keyboard?

  • hiii.. no its not its g15

  • Hi, I recommend for your next video, that you place your camera closer to the cube, or hold the cube closer to the camera. The cube will be visible more clearly that way. Thanks!

  • you're right, ill try to do better next time.

  • very nice video as always i learned a few new tricks thx.

  • Nice! I really found the double move trick very useful.
