Help please my ps3 is not loading one of my games ... it stays Loading i think it has something to do with the Saved Data Auto-Upload ... any suggestion?
wish xbox and playstation would start giving use quality products like nintendo. ps1 broke, ps2 broke, ps3 broke, 2 xbox 360s broke. i own all of nintendos consoles. guess what? every one still works despite all the years. xbox and ps3 both lasted about 1 year.
another way is to switch off the ps3 (the one in the back) and then hold eject when you switch it back on (still holding eject) it ejects your disc then turns on a 30 second fan to clean out al dust and such from the inside of the system

Help me! Mine is doing the same. I did the "rebuild database" and everything where you hold down the power button. I tried to reformat but whenever i try, it has an error. It takes about 14hours to reformat and at about 10 hours left it freezes. I tried 4-5 times and i cant take it anymore. Is it the Hard drive or the ps3? Help me please.
I don't know about you guys but when I re-set the display (and audio) settings, it went shits and giggles faster...but startup was still a little slow, but faster than before.

I had the same problem but a techy-guy got it fixed. The problem with my one was that the hard-drive itself became faulty. He tried a new HD and my ps3 worked perfectly. This was a slim though - wasn't for phat ps3s.
While the ps3 is off hold down the power button to turn it on BUT DONT LET GO after a few seconds it will turn off... then let go of the button and hold it again... this time it will turn on then beep twice ... when it beeps twice let go of the power button and it should bring up the menu... (just incase) Power button as in the button located on the ps3 NOT the ps button :p
@Mythianil sorry about that wait man ... if you do what i listed then pick Number 3 then yes and what not it will "rebuild" the system.. NO this will not Delete ANYTHING..

MY ps3 will pause for a second and go again, it can barely run fallout NV for 10 seconds without freezing, and it take like a minute to load a new room or w.e when i enter a new building. it doesnt do this on my other ps3...
I dont know weather you have fixed your ps3 yet or not but I to had the exact same problem and I tried all the stuff others had told me to try, like reformatting the hard drive etc,etc and nothing worked accept for replacing the hard drive in my PS3. I took the old hard drive and tested it and it was corrupt beyond repair. The hard drive still worked in my PS3 however it was megga slow to boot. Sorry I dont have better news but at least its just the hard drive.

@SixFootEightTao read mythianil comment below. Thats exactly what you gotta do and I think its option 4 or 5 on the menu. If your still confused there is a video on here how to reset or trouble shoot your PS3. Hope it works for you.
Just delete profiles demos movies ect. That you do not need any more and it should run more smoothly just cas it a 250g system does not mean you use all of it
People, thumbs up this to help others... Turn of your PS3, then boot it up using the 'on' button on the console, hold it right the way through the bootup without releasing, and it will switch it self off again, finally release the button, and when it's off repeat the same again, this will bring you to the Recovery Mode, from there follow steps on screen to restore your PS3, worked for me. To find a tutorial just search 'PS3 Recovery Menu' on YouTube. Easy solution!
it seems to be a firmware problem try downloading the firmware of the ps3 website then installing it on your ps3 again it should fix it because you cant do it on your ps3 because you cant get the main screen up lol srry j shouldn't laugh but yea try that

damn, hmm, i got that 80 GB and its moving along fast and well. had mine for about 2 years. check ur firmware version, run an update check. it might have some fragmentation somewhere in the HDD.
I remember that when I was downloading little big planet an then I turned of my Ps3 when it wasnt done downloading the next day it was slow so maybe I should delete my downloading process
More things u have the more issues u will get people are under this illusion i think that machines are indestructable there simply not my advice mate try not to have it on longer than 6 hrs and try not to download to many things.
Sounds like you might receive a red screen which says serious error and to contact manufacturers. Happen to me and now its at SONY getting remanufactured. Problem solved in 7 days cost free. Hopefully SONY CUSTOMER SERVICE there will be as good otherwise thatll suck.
from power off to active screen, yours is certainly faster than my PS3, but after that, yours just goes down hill after that.
if you havent got a full hard drive and it's still like this then i recommend getting a water cooling kit to cool the processors down enough, which may result in a noticable speed-up. if you dont know how/want to install water cooling yourself, get someone who can to help you.
Your HDD might be full. When your PS3 boots up, it scans the whole HDD for any errors. Depending on what's on the HDD, it takes alot longer. Try deleting some stuff off it.

ive had that problem, i fixed it, the way i did it is turn of the the system completely, then turn it on, and when the light is red, turn it on until about 4 or 3 beeps, then turn on the controller, and the restore the ps3 system

that means ur hard drive is overheated. just return the ps3 and get another one for it. there is no other solution ive tried everything aswell

mine dont work, it comes up with who do i want to log into to e.g sam or jess so i click Sam because thats me. but then when i do this it just stays on the screen witch is very simeler to the screen you had while it was loading. i left it on for a while but still nothing. what could i do?

damn, hmm, i got that 80 GB and its moving along fast and well. had mine for about 2 years. check ur firmware version, run an update check. it might have some fragmentation somewhere in the HDD.

Sounds like you might receive a red screen which says serious error and to contact manufacturers. Happen to me and now its at SONY getting remanufactured. Problem solved in 7 days cost free. Hopefully SONY CUSTOMER SERVICE there will be as good otherwise thatll suck.

from power off to active screen, yours is certainly faster than my PS3, but after that, yours just goes down hill after that.
if you havent got a full hard drive and it's still like this then i recommend getting a water cooling kit to cool the processors down enough, which may result in a noticable speed-up. if you dont know how/want to install water cooling yourself, get someone who can to help you.

Your HDD might be full. When your PS3 boots up, it scans the whole HDD for any errors. Depending on what's on the HDD, it takes alot longer. Try deleting some stuff off it.

dosent only work on 60gig worked on my 40gig i dont no wat to do apparently u can hold the power button until it bleeps twice really fast then u press a button that fixes ur hard drive i dont no this is the 2nd time its happened 2 me, last time i just left it 4 a hour and it stopped but now it jst stays on, i might give it more time since i only gave it like 20 secends

if your warranty is up, who cares. Sony is responsible and THEY shouldn't have came up with this problem. If you call them and say u have to pay to get it fixed, just say "im not accepting this. I bought ur console for enjoyment, and I payed a LOAD of money 4 that. And now, because of a problem you people didnt review, I'm expected to pay for YOUR mistakes?!"

ive had that problem, i fixed it, the way i did it is turn of the the system completely, then turn it on, and when the light is red, turn it on until about 4 or 3 beeps, then turn on the controller, and the restore the ps3 system
