Is it just me or does it sound like she's trying to say French and France at the same time? "Frens" I would be at a dead stop here without the lyrics xD
@pinyinhead Hi, you should pronounce r like r in road, but with the tongue loosely rolled in the middle of the mouth.
For example:
很热 hěn rè
In the final position R is pronounced more like English R.
玩儿 wánr 一点儿 yīdiǎnr (pronounced yīdiǎr)
R was chosen in pinyin to represent the sound but you should be guided by the Chinese pronunciation rules not by equivalent letters in English. Listening to recordings or listening to the native speakers is the best way to get your sounds right.
@pinyinhead Nice! Hope you enjoy our videos and any questions, just feel free to ask. By the way, you can also watch our new videos on the account of eChineseOnline on Youtube.

I can't pronounce the pinyin word "ren" to save my life!!! Please give us pointers on how to pronounce "ren" (person) please. thanks.
pinyinhead 4 weeks ago
@pinyinhead easy! the "R" in chinese is not like the "R" in english
Look "Ren" would be like: Shrek! that's it, like Shrek! but here you have to say: Shren!
so the "R" in chinese is like "shrek" without the "k"
fa guo ren = fa guo (shren) :P
