Freddie was a warm guy and very encouraging player to others. He played a Calicchio which is where I first met him and we became friends. He listened to me playing most of lines for a few minutes, and I did not know he was standing behind me, Rhom Lee-EWF was there and Freddie openly told me to keep going and told me to call him anytime if I needed help what a great guy! R.I.P. Hubs....
I love this because I've never seen Freddie talking before and it is so different an image of him than when he is playing. When he plays he is all music, all intent and seriously concentrated, but blows almost nonchalantly as if it was nothing to play like he does. But he rarely smiles on stage. Here talking you see his personal warmth shine out. Great stuff to see the person who is the greatest trumpet bar none.
I feel honored to have seen this. THANK YOU so much for sharing this. Thank you. Yes, thank you so incredibly much.

i like his interviews because he talked more about the music than comparing other ethnicities like Miles Davis.

I really enjoyed this interview. I agree with what the first person said. He seems to have a humility and warmth in his personality. R.I.P Freddie.
P.S. Man, I didn't know Herbie could draw. Wow!!!!
