It's good. I think it was in the step in the right direction at the time. Now Sonic and the Black Knight has some of the issues from this game fixed, like backing up and moving forward. That's all I can say.

The only way to see if it's good is to rent it.

I gotta beg to differ, every sonic game since Adventure 2 has been crap. The best one out right now is Chronicles. Sonic 06, Unleashed, this one, and every other one is pretty crappy lately.

If the speed and abilities included in this game were there from the start, it would make Sonic almost impossible to control, people need to get to grips with the conrols before they can do more complicated stuff or go so very fast.

I know that, if Sonic ran as fast from the start as he does with his speed levelled up, it would have taken me LOT longer to learn to control him.

Woot! Level 75 + wind crest! To get the wind crest you need to get 115 silver medals (basically all missions completed with at least silver medals). its worth it!

My mistake: Japan made this game. Not America... Tho for some reason, they got Sonic Heroes right but not the 360 game. I do think that Sega jumps the gun with a ton of things. Jumping from one thing to another with Sonic, and more characters! :D

It's not like that at the start. I got sooo far into the game. Sonic Leveled up and made this gameplay seem like it's a test run. But this game does bring Sonic back to his roots. 2D in a way when using the Wii-remote. Try it at a friends house or rent it. Never judge a book by it's cover, or movie. It's best to get a personal opinion instead of watching game-play footage of it.

Also, one optimization I like to do is use Cancel Dash or Cancel Turbo right after defeating the last enemy in a row so I can get a huge running start instead of air dashing which is slower, it looks like. You can even use Sub-F-Gaze to make defeating enemies that take more than one dash to kill require just one or two dashes before dropping down.

I got a gold when I had a level 18 or so Sonic and didn't have speed break. Worlds after Sand Oasis might require Speed Break for Gold Medals, but I know for a fact that getting Gold on Sand Oasis: Go for the Goal just requires some optimization and a higher top speed than the beginning.

You always have Speed Break and Time Break. It's the default when using the up and down arrows.

Nice, but not that it matters now that you have gold but next time, use Jump Cancel a bit more, avoid attacking enemies and try to use skills that's necessary to the level (I saw that you chose Hard Brake when you really never used it). Not saying something's wrong with your play, just giving a few pointers. Once again, nice clip.

It's a good pointer on the Hard brake... However, I use Ring A for all the stages, I don't feel like having all 4 rings customized for different things. And if I level up, I tend to forget what's equip in what in either Ring B or C... Plus in the game play here, I didn't use Hard Brake. But later on the other things... I do use it.
