  • In the DFN why not do the colour and exposure in post? Is there a good reason for doing it while recording?

  • theres an easier solution for the raining effect. wait for it to rain.

  • What always catches my Eye when doing a "Day for Night" conversion, is that the Sky is brighter than the actual footage, and that's why it doesn't look like it really is night... So, somehow you've got to make the Sky dark.

  • Really helpful! Thanks

  • Nice. I can't get my hose to reach the bus stop though.lol

  • I wanna work wit u bro.. u wrk!

  • I love ur videos bro... GOD BLESS YOU and ur team <3

  • There is this new thing called a green screen. If you have the right software you can make flawless night scenes, flawless sped up scenes, and flawless rain scenes..

  • @crazyfrogstudios You could, if you have the time or right equipment.

  • Check out Camera Mount Clamp dot com

  • too much talk. show more outcomes instead of talking. VISUALLY EXPRESS THINGS.

  • @Reels2010 We need to explain the technique, but we always try to demonstrate it as well. Hopefully we'll get even more demonstrations in future videos.

    Cheers,

    The Videomaker Team

  • @videomaker well do it then, too much talk mate!

  • which software r u showing in the video for editing?

  • @poplu13 Go to our site, click the "Downloads" tab, scroll down and click the "3D Model Resources" in the "Miscellaneous Downloads" section. Also, click the "Reviews" tab, click the "Software" link, then the "Animation" link. Also, type "14885" into the "search videomaker" window (that the article # for our most current Buyers Guide). Hope these help.

    Cheers,

    The Videomaker Team

  • @poplu13 They're using Adobe Premiere Pro.

  • Thanks - a lot of useful, practical tips here.

  • what editor do you use?

  • I have a simple cheapy Vado HD video camera but the tutorial here set my imagination going. for the DFN, maybe change the hue a little and darken the video clip in my editor. I dont plan on any heavy duty serious movie productions so for now that works for me. Thanks again for another great tutorial.

  • buy camera noob

  • wow master yoda

  • 3:39 or u can just use a green screen :3

  • Ok I have an idea about the sped up background. Couldnt you take footage of just the background, then take seperate footage of your actor infront of a green screen. Slow the footage of the actor and speed up the background footage, then chroma key them together?

  • @SupperKaate Dont blame Sony to go slow and the lag. I have used my Insignia HD 720P picket cam footage in it and had no isses. Also I have been messing with footage shot with my Canon HF100 R HD camcorder and have not had lagging issues. The lagging issues etc could be caused due to your computer. Also HD takes a lot of time to render.

  • Final Cut Pro

  • That DFN tip did it for me. ive been doing it in post and it just doesn't look right. Thanks so much

  • Great!! I love it.

  • Please help me get some good 3d modeling program i looked on your website but its really confusing i thin you should change it.. plz reply

  • @oskarszaman Cinema 4D is a GREAT 3D program

  • u could use a rain stick

  • thank you very much this was very helpful

  • Sir i just wanna know what video editor do use?. Thank you.

  • these were so helpfull thank you

  • Sped up or SPEED up ?

  • Cool stuff. Know of any good sites for downloadable sound effects?

  • @HDVids4free

We have a link index on our website. At our homepage, click on the "Downloads" tab, then "Free Sound Effects" underneath "Stock Media." Cheers.

  • The editing software is final cut express or final cut pro ( best) final cut express costs 200$ and final cut pro cost 1000$

  • Nice Vid

Wat program r u using throughout that video!?

  • what's the video editor software?

  • I have a question about the dfn. If you were to be using a flashlight for the dfn scenes would it look like a flashlight beam still?. The character in my film usually has a flashlight. Thanks.

  • @quinandjarjar

Check out our video "Outdoor Lighting for Video"

In the DFN section we illustrate the flashlight effect (which was created in After Effects). Hope it helps. Cheers.

  • @videomaker Thanks for answering. It really helped a lot.

  • HOW TO MAKE BLOOD!

  • @JetflashCruzA Ha ha, If you have a good chroma key program you can go to detonationfilmsDOTcom and they have excellent blood effects (Then you simply add Chroma Key.)

  • What a piece of crap... How to make rain. Grab a garden hose and point it up, Seriously...

  • @RavenRof Then why the hell are you watching this video for huh? These guys are trying to help people that want to learn. Not you. so why dont you go point up ur hose up ur @ss.

  • @Coles109 this is bad learning material. Want to learn anything decent? try videocopilot (dot) net I came here to learn, i saw the material and it sucks. As everyone else on the internet i have an opinion and i'm free to publicly announce it. Maybe my opinion helps someone else not to lose 6.32 minutes of their life.

  • lol

  • thnks a million ur vids do teach me alot

  • @ZFGDK search for "filmriot" on youtube and you will find better film making tutorials/tips

  • @MusicF4 woooow this sick!!!! thanks a million.

  • @MusicF4 but those are mainly how to make things... i want video making tricks to make it better etc

  • with what adobe program do they edit it?

  • These are cool effects. Very clever.

  • love ur tutorials, its really goin 2 help me do some kl stuff, n get on top in my class

  • for the sped up background you could use chroma key and change lighting to match

  • Love the detail on the day-to-night effect. Thanks.

  • Another great video Tom. Excellent stuff.

  • Thanks for all the Help and Tips...

  • Nice tip for the DFN trick.

  • Great job I think i will use some of these techniques.

I feel that this is film school right here and you don't need to go to college for it lol

  • @ RedBullsNY LMAO. its dark. <(")

  • I've tried out the rain effect some time ago, which looked really good and can say that overcast can give the best results for selling the effect.

The DFN wasn't what I was expecting. It looked like an early morning because of the visible bright sky. I know that some people shoot during sunny day and somewhere like you did, so that there would be some shadows that would look like casted by the moon. I noticed that night effect looks great when there's a feel of moon and dark or no visible sky.

  • Pretty good video

  • which video software are u using?

  • @fahadsaeed50 he is using adobe premiere.

  • Great tutorial

  • Good day for night tip. It makes sense, but that was something I had not considered before. Very easy and useful, thanks!

  • The sped up part was awful.

    1. Why would the guy who was filming move the tripod?

    2. I probably don't have to tell how bad it looked when you cropped in the person to the background. Why move the tripod between the two shots??

Otherwise the tips were good. Though your video quality still is pretty bad in every video you put up... Fix it.

  • at 6:10 is it dark or is he drunk?

  • Thanks for the enlightment !

  • Only the sped up background tip was bad. Everything else was cool.

  • Thanks.

  • there video's are so horrible..........

  • DFN, so trying it!

  • DFN, I have to try this!

  • Thanks. The DFN is exactly what I was looking for

  • the first stupid comment of the day.

  • what video software do you use ?

  • @BLwrestling1 It looks like Adobe Premiere?

  • Really appreciate your tutorials, but I have to say, for being video experts, the videos always look really fuzzy. Just saying.

  • audionautix i agree with you, but if you wish you can get HD on their website (i think you have to pay though)

  • @audionautix They release the HD versions on their website.

  • @audionautix It's because they offer these same videos in hd on their website, its to encourage people to go there instead of their youtube.

  • @TheStuartCarson

Well, that explains a lot! Thanks for not pointing and laughing. Oh, and I HAVE noticed their current videos look really fantastic.

  • @audionautix

not only do they look great, but there's no plagiarism involved.

    KEvron

  • didn't you already do a sped up background tutorial

  • @lotsaEntertainment

    they did

  • That was great! that helped me allot and I love your videos!

  • Awesome thank you

  • first rate

  • oh srry i forgot
