  • I just started learning how to play the piano today, and after 30 minutes with a free piano software on my computer, intense banging on the laptop keys, I now can play that last part with 2 hands really fast. Thank you GetPianoLessons!

  • @PilotCube - You're very welcome :0)

  • dude you were the one fuck dude i've been impressing my friends with piano skills that you taught me like a few years ago

  • continue doing this lessons and i know you can be an adviser for everyone!!!

  • Amazing! I will do my best and study hard so I can play like you do =D

I'm so happy with your tutorials.. This is much appreciated!

  • I was gona burn my piano until I did write those notes to paper witch made this 100 times easier

  • God that's so hard! How can you keep track of what your left hand is doing, when playing with your right hand.. and vice versa?? :S i've tried so hard but i always have to hold keys with my left hand if i want to play with my right. i can never play simoultaneously with both hands, because the tones always get screwed up :( i don't know if my brain is too slow and can't catch up or something ^^ but its just so annoying because i want to be able to do what you do .. and yes, i am right handed ^^

  • btw, i have one example of what i mean in my videosection, when i'm playing my national anthem. ^^ you'll notice that my left hand exists solely for keeping keys in a depressed state. if i try to make the left-hand track into something more like what the right hand is doing, i would crash and burn ^^

  • If an athlete with two arms can do 50 push-ups.... then an obese person can eventually do the same 50 push-ups.... as long as he/she *also* has two arms (and the willingness to practice).

No different here.... you've got the same ten fingers as myself..... I've just got more years of practice under my belt...... that's the key to anything on the piano*

  • Of course :) i'm just saying that sometimes it feels as if i have to split my brain in two or something in order for my hands to play independently from each other ^^ .. when my left hand does one thing, my right hand wants to do the exact same thing XD .. can be quite frustrating ^^ that's why i'm presently stuck on simply keeping keys depressed with my left hand while playing with my right... but as you say :) practice is probably the life-line here ^^

  • I know excatly what your talking about does that to e too...but kept practicing and now i play both hands...

    good luck

  • oh :O cool. got any tips? :)

  • how long it wud take 4 complete ...

    INDIA

  • That all depends on the individual.... given the amount of practice*

  • the piece you are playing at the intro of this vid is SICK!!! i am not this far along in the lessons as of yet but i just want to look ahead to see what was coming. I hope that song is in one of the future lessons!

  • Thanks. that sounds like a good idea...... I may consider doing that in the future.

  • @getpianolessons what song is it? and did you ever make that lesson? couple parts in it that are amazing; tough to follow your lightning fast movements :P thanks for all the great vids btw!!

  • Brandon, I was practicing your lesson and think it is fun and very well structured. But I was wondering why you dont incorporate with notes. I say each note as I practice. Thank you, John

  • Remember as you say each note while playing you also have to use the correct fingers (so thats 2 things you have to keep track of). I leave the note-memorizing out in the beginning to keep it as simple as possible.

By the way... if your piano teacher is telling you to play @ 80 BPM than listen to their instructions.

  • Hi Brandon you have a great lesson plan. One question for now what speed should my metronome be on?

  • set it to 60 BPM. thats the general speed I use for my lessons.

  • Is 60 bpm a general rule or is it set for your teaching. I am taking Piano lessons and my teacher said to set it at 80.

  • One more question, Brandon, in the earlier lessons you said that casio privia is good choice. I was looking for it online, and saw different models of it. Can you recommend me the closest to the grand piano and the cheapest?

    Thank you once again

  • wow... I never knew this tune would have such an effect. well I havent released it on itunes or anything but now that I see there is an interest, I may do a special series of lessons where I show how to play some of my original tunes (but that will be much later on after i've covered the basics).

On the keyboard... well I just checked sam ash online and it looks like the "casio privia px 120" is a great choice for a compact grand piano with real sound and feel for $499 - thanx 4 writing!

  • That would be great, Brandon! thank you very much for your lessons once again.

    And thank you for recommendations!

  • thank you for prompt response. Can you tell me where can i buy that song? i am desperate for that song. I started learning playing piano, hopefully one day i will be able to play that song :)

I will look forward to hearing from you. And will be waiting for your next lessons.

  • Thank you Brandon very much! will be waiting for your next lessons!!!

I have question, what's the name of the music which you played at intro? can you tell me that please, i really liked that music.

    Thank you once again!

  • thanks... that song's called "big city". I wrote that during the mid 90's.

  • the begging is sooo cool thanks again im progressing fast

  • I'm glad I found your page, I just bought a Yamaha keyboard and your videos have been helping me along, thank you!

  • Wow... 10 minutes of practice and I've got it!

    Thanks =)

  • wow!!!!
