I have to say that they did a great job on the song!! And what I thought was really cool is that Steve Morse actually didn't sound like Steve Morse!!!
man this is just spine-tingling they all play brilliantly, Ian STILL has it, sometimes you heare him and think man he is struggling but here its great!! thank you so much for posting this and putting a smile on my face
@ericTHEFOXcarr I just seen them on June 11 2011 at Atlantic City,NJ One of the best shows i seen from DP I mean they were AWESOME!!!!!!!! Had front row seats.Long Live DEEP PURPLE!!!!
HI AGAIN DAVID! DID YOU KNOW IT'S ROGER GLOVER'S 65TH BIRTHDAY ON TUESDAY? WHO'D HAVE HONESTLY BELIEVED THAT THEY'D STILL BE DOING SELL-OUT CONCERTS TOURS 40 YEARS ON? I ALSO QUITE LIKED THEIR PHASE 1 MUSIC (2SHADES OF DEEP PURPLE" AND "BOOK OF TALISNE" ARE WORTH LISTENING TO - AS ARE THE ALBUMS "BURN" AND "sTORMBRINGER (MK3 LINE UP)
@gilllew Many Happy Returns to the great man. Yeah Purple will be rocking into their Zimmer Frames, Rock Legends for all eternity. I've been a fan of DP since '83, got all their studio work (even Slaves and Masters on cassette, ha ha). The Mk1 stuff was ok imo, it was an important part in the band's history/evolution. Faves are Hush, Kentucky Woman, Bird Has Flown, Mandrake Root, Wring That Neck and Emmaretta. Burn album was classic, Bringer and Come Taste not too bad.
THANKS FOR TELLING ME ABOUT THE BRIAN MATTHEW (REMEMBER HIM FROM THE 60'S MUSIC SHOW "THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS" WHAT A GOOD PROGRAMME THAT WAS) INTERVIEW WITH JON LORD IT WAS GOOD TO HEAR THAT TRACK AGAIN.
@gilllew No worries. Lucky you seeing the mighty MK2 back in the day. I've got a couple of official bootleg releases. Montreux '69 which is a cracker and also an official release from a gig in Aachen, Germany '70 which is good but there's too much vocal overload from Gillans mic on that one which spoils the listening experience somewhat. MIJ is obviously an all time classic live album but they're earlier sound was a lot rawer. BM a bit before my time as i didn't arrive until '74. Cheers
Cheers for posting Igor, great to hear the In Rock closer again. Paice's drumming is fantastic, sounds as if he could be playing the song 40 years ago! Always loved the powerful driving riff to this track. Superb live work all round by the band.
HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST TRACKS ON THE "IN ROCK" ALBUM (ALONG WITH "CHILD IN TIME") CERTAINLY IS GREAT TO SEE IT BEING PERFORMED LIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME (WISHED THAT THEY'D HAVE DONE PERFORMED IT IN THE CONCERT I SAW IN THE EARLY 70'S)
When I saw this I'd thought I'd died and went to Rock n Roll heaven, me being the Mark 2 fan that I am. Never thought I'd see a live of this! This was an even bigger thrill than hearing Living Wreck and Rat Bat Blue live. Thank you Deep Purple, it was awesome and thank you for posting!!!
Bloody brilliant, should have been part of their play list for years. Any real Purple fan would know this hot little classic from "In Rock". Who said they weren't pioneers of metal, this is proof. Rock on Deep Purple.
@BlackPurpleFish ¡¡¡ This is like a Dream Dave ,Ian voice is the inspiration for many singers like Dickinson, from Iron Maiden ,He is the Boss ever.Cheers.
Where the fuck is Chech Republic? :D

Wow, that's awesome! In Rock is one of my favorite albums. Only thing that would make this better is Blackmore, Lord and Paice playing it.

@gilllew There's also a great live version of the song on Tube that they did for a BBC Radio session in 1970. Check it out if you haven't already.
