how do they overcome the fear in real battles which is youre bodies natural reaction when you get involved in this sort of stuff. it obviously happens and people have trouble. how it must be hard to shoot if you are overcome with fear and youre muscles are tremmoring. if you are the sort of person thats gets easily scared by having to fight in any situation on the street then do youre self a favour and don't sign up for this. the military may not determine you are this type on joining

I could never do this job and obviously would not even bother applying. i think you'll agree with em there are some indivduals who sing up for this and only realize they are not suited for this untill they are sent out on ops and they realize it isn't for them. many dont realize in training what the real deal is

@ihatebobspammers Nah i doubt it, alot of the time, when a unit is doing this kind of training, one soldier will be secretley told, at one point during the training exercise, to become a combat casualty, he knows he has to go down as if he was shot, but noone else does, or when, so its as real and as unexpected as the real thing, best training...

@42ndairsoftcompany... Yes We Do, Its Called Osprey Body Armour, Which Can Be Fitted With Upper Arm Protectors And a Collar (Although not many wear those). I See Why You Ask, We Don't Use Them For Training, Unless We'll Be Sent To Afghan Soon.

yes you are. most trades have dropped alot of entry requirements so you might be able to get a much better job than a few years ago with much less quals. I only had two gcse's and they took me and im doing fine lol. Go for it.

do you have to be in the parachute reg. to be part of air assault? or could you be in a different regiment, for example, the rifles, and still do air assault manouvers?

16th air Assault Brigade is the rapid reaction force deploy able in 48 hours anywhere in the world, it consists of the paras and the Royal Irish regiment, sometimes there is other regiments attached to them for operations e.g October 2010, Royal Irish regiment are going to Afghanistan and Irish Guards are going with them. All regs learn how 2 use Heli's e.g boarding, exiting etc but the Air Assualt brigade are the trained more on it. Hope that helps

@miky261 U cant be rifles, there part of 3 commando brigade. But yeah royal artillery, engineers, logistics, royal irish, they all have a unit part of 16 air assault. u just do p company & get ur maroon beret then go on ops with them. but u wont have the cap badge
