This is my favorite all time movie. I was able to identify with all the characters at different stages in my life. The young girl, the wife, and then the man. Beautiful movie.
This video makes me remember the movie which was so romantic and sad at the end. Oskar died way before his time. I loved him in this and Ship of Fools. Thank you for posting
Chaffin1013 - exactly the same! I saw the movie when first released, my first week of going to work. I saw it a couple of times, but, thankfully, fell for Barbara Ferris instead of Oscar. Barbara, it seemed, immediately went into lockdown and perhaps obscurity.
I have played this on guitar for about 40 years without knowing the words or chords until i caught this on Youtube a couple of years back. Now i can sing along with the correct tune! Timi was absolutely fantastic, so undersold.
I haven't heard this in way too many years to count! I saw the film when it was released in 1968; I was just a teenager and this film had a huge impact on me. I ended up with a crush on Oskar Werner and this song haunting me! So wonderful to hear it again, the way I remember it from the film. I'd love to see 'Interlude' again; hopefully it'll be released to DVD someday -
This song -- "Interlude - Time Is Like A Dream" - is right up there with Andre Boccelli and Sarah Brightman's "Time to Say Goodbye." I certainly would love to hear Boccelli and Brightman do Timi justice by covering this song and acknowledge Timi Yuro. If they have done it already....I am not aware.
Oskar Werner's family [apparently] has refused to allow the movie to be re-issued on DVD. You can still find VHS [and LP] copies on eBay. Many fond memories...
The name of the movie is Interlude- and I love it. Saw the original in 1968 - and have yet to see it released. Anyone have some video. Loved this movie.
For amiaminot : go to Amazon and search for the Interlude & Rapture [soundtrack]. New version of Delerue's music. "Time" is sung, very different than Timi's but beautiful.

I do not know how I have missed this movie and the songs and soundtrack all these years! It is so romantic and nostalgic ... the kinds of artwork qualities our Loving God designed between man and woman in the beginning.
I have often wondered if this was a take off on Herbert Von Karian's life. We may never know. But Oskar was such a dream to look upon. Wish he was still with us.
When the movie was released in 1968 I saw it at least three times and over the decades I saw it repeated in some late night TV channels in the 80s. I don't think some company is smart to think of releasing this wonderful tearjerker in DVD. I have the pleasure of personally knew Timi & have a signed copy of CD from her before she passed away. God bless Timi, the only white girl that sang with soul!
I agree with you. I saw it then as well. I was 16. I still love it and have transfer copies which I am addicted to and watch repeatedly. I can go for months, then suddenly I watch it off and on for several days. It always makes me ache. They have become real ...
Haunting & gorgeous, this soundtrack version is stunning & different from the version found in the "Something Bad On My Mind" masterwork...anything by Timi Yuro is magical listening...Bravo Timi!!!
one of the most beautiful and powerful songs ever made- this is the first time I've ever heard this version- different vocal (and it sounds like a different instrumental take as well?) than the one on the "Interlude" soundtrack LP- even the words, where she sings "loving you makes my whole life change" instead of "loving you makes the whole world change"- can anyone help me find where this particular version comes from? Thanks!
Timi has two versions of this song, the single is slightly faster and the backing is a little more uplifting. However its the slower version in the soundtrack that fits the tone of the movie perfectly...a love that's not meant to be... Both songs are available in the "rpm" label CD "The Voice That Got Away" it has 26 songs!!! Good luck in finding it.
Never enough..! Thanks !!! Love the song, love Oskar and would love having the oportunity to finally watch Interlude...(not an easy task..BUT I found this store in the U.K where copies are available. If interested, let me know )
I would love to find a copy of the enchanting movie Interlude. Do you know if the store in UK still would have copies of it? How could I reach them? (I live in the US)

I saw the movie recently on local TV. Very touching. Morrissey has a good solo version of the theme on You Tube , search: Morrissey Interlude (demo)
