Most incredible movie ever. Honestly, I like it better than the book. Everyone is so evil in the book. There is no true love just spiteful use. But the movie was AMAZING!
I've only seen 3 versions, but this one was the best. Although Timothy Dalton was a good Heathcliff, that was probably the worst version, and this the best. It follows the book fairly well, though it leaves out nearly everything of the "young Cathy" part.
No one is Gypsish looking enough these days. They are all too milky to play Heathcliff. Johnny Depp's the only one. A young Oliver Reed would have been great with a Young Kate O'Mara as Cathy. Timothy Dalton was the best though !
@victorloback Have you seen this version? The trailer could make you think it's not good... Btw, they're going to make another version of Wuthering Heights (with Ed Westwick as Heath). I wonder how many times they will make another one... :s
@BadMoonRising0202 Well, it was rumored (like a year ago) that he was going to portray Heathcliff, but now it's going to be an (to me) unknown James Howson... Never heard of him. Too bad, I was looking forward to an Ed Westwick version... :(
@Lemontree23 james howson is NOT the right choice because he's black. this is NOT meant to be racist but as you can see from the book, heathcliff isn't black. that would be like picking brad pitt to play martin luther king. retarded. the new version is probably gonna be crap. heathcliff is supposed to be hot, and this guy definitely isn't. Loved the 2009 version though. it's my favorite :) It's way different than the book though.
@xxxfantasyhorse james howson is not a bad choice at all! in the book heathcliff is a "dark-skinned gypsy in aspect and a little lascar"". gypsies have dark skin , from their indian origin. james is not that black, so i think he could pass for a gypsie.
"heathcliff is supposed to be hot"? emily bronte didn't let me with that impression.

@Lemontree23 Yeah, I read that something like 10 min after posting this... Ed Westwick would have been perfect with Gemma Arterton! So sad!

I don't know why but...well, it seems to be a good film but, based on what I see in the trailer, not much to do with the book...

Agreed :/

Well, I know, but actually, this is the trailer for the 2nd part that was shown in Belgium. It was broadcasted in 2 parts...
But I couldn't find the 1st trailer anymore, but I uploaded the 2nd one anyway. Therefore, you're right about not having much to do with the book.
